    Home Charger Supplier Help

Aesthetically Andersen or Simpson are probably best. Integration with solar panels, Zappi are good. Integration with Octopus Intelligent tariff - Zappi or (I think) Ohme. They all have various other features I think. Depends where you want to put it (visible or hidden), whether you dislike the...

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue

Various tyre posts if you search. I had those Pirelli’s and didn’t like them. Just changed to Michelins. Much better in my opinion. The Pirelli’s just didn’t grip well and wore unevenly

BYD showcasing 1000kw charging in their new sedan Han L EV

Interesting calculation. But at the 5 minute end it will take longer to connect and disconnect the car than to charge. So you will never have more than 4 actually pulling that power at the same time

BYD showcasing 1000kw charging in their new sedan Han L EV

The problem will be the MG or Zoe driver whose car will only take 50kW who thinks they will get to charge their car up to 100% faster on the 1000kW supply

    Check Your Tires!

It will be interesting to know if the higher pressures result in more central wear over time with loss of tread in the middle of the tyre. I don’t know how high the pressures would need to be to see this though

Coolant Leak & Costly Repair – Anyone Else Experienced This?

It sort of makes you think that Porsche have accepted their cars will be worthless long before the battery warranty runs out - who would buy a second hand car with potential bills like this that their extended warranty won’t cover? Maybe that is the plan - until people realise and stop buying them.

How Important Are These Performance Features?

What did I tell you? Someone will tell you it isn’t a proper Porsche without those thing ??

Car Accident ‼️ Brake problems at short distances.

I think you need the software update for the brakes that gets done when you have the brake hose recall. I had a few instances where I had to hit the brakes hard at low speeds and they didn’t work well but now much better after the recall and software update

    Dealer Shout Outs

How much is the warranty extension at the moment? Is it £1000/yr? And did you need the 111 point check?

ANSWERED! How high does the rear spoiler go?

It hardly seems worth the bother! It moves so little that I doubt it would affect handling at any speed, certainly not at UK road legal speeds

How Important Are These Performance Features?

You will get a mix of opinions on here ranging from “they aren’t important, my car is great without them” through to “they are essential, it isn’t a proper Porsche without them”. If you don’t intend to drive on a track, they probably won’t make much difference - drive the car and see if you like...

UK owners - don't forget to tax you cars before the end of this month...

Good call I did mine last March. It won’t save quite that much though… it will just defer the payment of £195 to next March. It will save you £16.25 per month that you no longer pay

    UK service & costs

That’s a lot more than I paid in Tewkesbury and they did discount for the brake fluid as well

    Pirelli P-Zero P24 our Cinturato P7 Blue or Michelin Pilot Sport4 20" ?

Well whatever you do, don’t get the Pirelli Cinturato. I had PS4 on my original 4S then when I traded up to a Turbo it had the Pirelli Cinturato. Never liked them. Poor grip and uneven wear. Just changed back to PS4. Hopefully they will behave like the ones I had on the old 4S

Taycan Problem - potential catastrophic tire failure

I have just had the Pirelli Cinturato tyres replaced on a 2 year old Turbo after 14,000 miles. They had not worn evenly and I never liked that way they gripped (or rather, didn’t grip). The rears were particularly bad with wear centrally (never been over inflated) and there was a bit of wear on...

Taycan: "The EV that offers the best resale value after 3 years" - article

It always makes me laugh how people think the depreciation is good because the % might be a bit lower than the competition. But since the starting price of a Taycan is 3x that of a Tesla, the actual ££ lost is way higher. Which is what my bank balance sees. And then with Porsche there is the...

Is anyone still having issues with the PCM randomly rebooting while driving (Mine's a '21)

Used to happen to me from time to time (MY23). Not happened for ages then did it about 2 weeks ago. Very annoying. I think it has mostly happened when I did something with the satnav (like cancelling the route)

Hotel recommendations for Taycan parking in london

Last time I went I parked at Westfield. There is a choice of tube stations for onward travel. I don't recall having any trouble with the spaces or size of the car park. I don't think the charge points worked though

Existing EV batteries may last up to 40% longer than expected (Stanford study results)

This bit is particularly reassuring Pressing the pedal with your foot hard does not speed up aging. If anything, it slows it down,
