Not sure what you mean by setting the auto highbeam to come on. There is a setting that enables the auto highbeam, but you still have to go to "high beam" manually for the auto (vs manual) function to work. You can override the auto by pulling again briefly.
It’s very similar to Audi or BMW laser high beams, which makes sense. I wonder if because in the US we can’t use matrix feature and it’s all locked as a group it has been made to come on in stricter conditions. I can imagine if we could move to the 21st century and the headlights could use the...
FWIW my dealer also stated that the WiFi CarPlay was still being tested and would be available in the spring. Considering my Audi still has “blank screen” issues with CarPlay two years out I’d rather they get it right than chuck it over the wall.
Honestly I have come to this way of thinking after a while. The only thing that makes it not as useful is if they simply allow one slider to set the “current” charge. I use profiles for different locations, And/or for different trips. The app is SO SLOW if it responded quickly one could set up...
Mine in the US (2020) has never had the option for lights, lock or horn (which I have on a lot of other cars). So no, you have three functions I have never had.
I am a bit confused. First leaving the car at full charge extended periods of time will cause more degradation than not, but how much depends on conditions.
Second it is easy enough to plug in always AND not go to 100%. Just set the general profile to a minimum charge of say 85%. Then just come...
The colors are way off, I am so glad I saw real pictures of the Mamba Green and frozen blue before I got mine. They are great colors in person but not for me, but on the configurator on a calibrated screen they looked NOTHING like the real color. And I am accounting for the fact that pictures...
Well, I am not supposed to say anything, but all the Taycan’s are spontaneously combusting and Porsche just covers it up. They just send you new ones. I am on my third one now. I knew I should have gotten a Tesla!
But I may have said too much....
Also remember Taycan has 2 speed gearbox, and the other cars have, well, more. At some point the electric motor runs out. But still the 2 speed does a lot for the car vs having to have one fixed gear ratio. But that was something to watch, I didn’t even care the Taycan got beat by a tiny amount...
You are correct, it’s all about what you want. My R8 is more fun in some ways, McClaren is more “raw” But neither has the punch nor the instantaneous and silent response. I wouldn’t buy a Turbo or Turbo S for “range,” it’s like a person I knew who bragged they could get 32 mpg from their BMW M...
I will just throw out a subtle cautionary statement with this caveat that this is UP TO INDIVIDUAL tastes. I am not a fan of surround, 3D and other processing functions in cars. In fact its the first thing I turn off, and if it can’t be turned off (as is the case in some Bose systems) I will not...
yup this is EA in a nutshell, they just look like a charging network, they don’t function as one. Same here in MD/NoVA/DC area. I have never had one 350 kw charger of theirs work, brand new station had all 3 350 KW chargers at fault it fault in charging, not one was fixed two weeks after...
I think they made a perfectly fine decision which has to do with “constant” behaviour regardless of state of charge and maintaining “normal” driving characteristics. I am perfectly fine with it. My point simply is it is very easy to provide an “alternate” mode we can turn on if we prefer.
I’ll chime in and say that Turbo S is TOO FAST and completely unnecessary. I’d say the same if Turbo for day to day. So a 4S or one with performance is, in my opinion, the true sweet spot if you are not drag racing or taking car to the track. I mean it’s fun but you won’t do it too many times...
