  1. 📒 Exhaustive documents of J1 platform Audi E-tron GT / Taycan [250 pages of detailed technical information]

This is indeed, perplexing. Electric motors are, well, pretty freaking common! And used for all kinds of high horsepower applications as well. But still, to this day, Tesla has some of the best motor calibration in the business. It really makes me wonder if it's because they are so...
  2. 📒 Exhaustive documents of J1 platform Audi E-tron GT / Taycan [250 pages of detailed technical information]

I used to love Sandy's breakdowns but his guzzling Tesla Kool Aid by the gallon turned me off. Also, he tends to fixate on inane crap that even his other employees in the videos don't see the need to highlight. I had to stop watching. I do love seeing the cars in pieces though. When he can...
  3. Major Taycan accomplishment thanks to this forum 🛒

This is my favorite spot at a major shopping center near me.
  4. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

I can empathize with your Taycan history. But going from an established manufacturer to an EV startup with documented teething problems.....because your first two Taycans encountered teething problems? This is....interesting logic.. The Lucid looks cool. Hope you have better luck with it!
  5. Is a white 2020 Taycan going to be the most expensive Taycan ever?

Yup. This is one of the biggest reasons I'm ditching my Tesla. I can already see that they DGAF about supporting older vehicles and quickly leave them in the dust. Moreso than any other OEM. And in a car that's ALL software driven, that's a bad place to be. I don't need to be driving the...
  6. Taycan as a daily driver for a working hands-on guy?

Maybe get a BMW i4? I understand your thought process of not wanting to trash an expensive car. Even if you can afford it, it somehow seems wrong. But the BMW offers "similar" performance, both in handling and acceleration, at nearly half the price. And it's a hatchback with that inherent...
  7. Taycan as a daily driver for a working hands-on guy?

He's referring to a Taycan Cross Tourismo... https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/taycan/taycan-models/taycan-4-cross-turismo/
  8. Traded Taycan 4 CT for EQS 450 4Matic SUV

Oh yes, for sure. My opinion only, but the Lucid looks....different whereas the EQS looks like a misshapen egg.
  9. Traded Taycan 4 CT for EQS 450 4Matic SUV

The SUV is MUCH better looking than the sedan, which is, IMO, one of the worst looking cars to have been released in the last decade.
  10. Finally here...but can't pick since Burmester amp isn't installed.

Yes. Wait times have varied from a few weeks to several months. And its across the range, not just the Taycan. Bose too.
  11. Remember this?

    Crash safety / component cost.
  12. Software update decreasing range of 4S and making the car think it is RWD with smaller battery

LOL, you'd better never own a Tesla. In Dec 2020 they completely re-did the UI in order to gain more screen real estate for the FSD visualization. And boy, people are still complaining about the Map being made smaller, the font being harder to read, impossible to read power flow meter, etc...
  13. Remember this?

Yes, thanks for the correction / clarification.
  14. Remember this?

I experienced suicide doors on a BMW i3. At the time I had two small children, one in a car seat, the other in a booster. What an absolute PITA. Unless you're parked in an open area, getting access to the rear seats sucks. And then you're trapped between whatever the doors are open up to...
  15. Consolidate Model 3 DD and 997 Turbo S weekend into Taycan....Would you?

No way. Too big, too stiff, too inert. I have considered an M3 xDrive Comp as it's plenty fast and plenty big enough. In fact, it's my number one contender after the Taycan.
  16. Consolidate Model 3 DD and 997 Turbo S weekend into Taycan....Would you?

Think you misunderstood my initial post. I will not have other vehicles to use. I mean, yes, I can use either of the Cayennes when needed, but i'm not going to send my son to High school in a brand new Cayenne or 997 Turbo if I "need" to use something other than a sports car.
  17. Consolidate Model 3 DD and 997 Turbo S weekend into Taycan....Would you?

Actually, he prefers the Cayenne much more, at least at this point. He's pretty cautious still, and he hasn't ever driven the Model 3 in full power mode, only Chill. But the Cayenne is such a better car, and even he can feel it at 15 and change. There are a few other things to consider...
  18. Rear Seat Entertainment

Don't have a Taycan (yet) but about to be in similar situation with 18 way seats in a Cayenne. I'm looking at suction cup mounts on either the window or the panoramic roof. Or, if the suction is strong enough, it might even mount to the rough back of the seat. Will have to see when it comes...
  19. Consolidate Model 3 DD and 997 Turbo S weekend into Taycan....Would you?

Not a bad ideal although the only one I see on Turo is a RWD and it's $300 bucks a day. And on the other side of town. Probably worth renting it on a Sunday and dropping it off after a weekday or two. Thanks for the suggestion!
  20. Consolidate Model 3 DD and 997 Turbo S weekend into Taycan....Would you?

I don't think nonplussed is the right word, but I understand why you took that from what I wrote. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic car and it's cool as hell to drive. But perhaps I was expecting to want to sell my right kidney for one then and there? Maybe I've always been a little caught...
