Hello all. Long time lurker, infrequent poster. Wanted to get your thoughts on the following:
I've owned a Porsche now for over 9 years, starting when we bought my wife a new Cayenne Diesel. Still have it, still love it. When it came time to replace my DD in 2016, I was shopping for the...
On the Tesla, holding down the two steering wheel buttons for 5 seconds re-boots the display computer. And I know on my 958 Cayenne, holding down the volume / power knob for a few seconds does the same for the PCM.
Is there something similar on the Taycan? Sounds like that might clear it up.
Electric steering has come a long way, I grant you that. But even in the 991.2's, where it's starting to get good, PSP is still way overboosted and filters too much feel. I haven't driven a 992, but driven plenty of modern Caynennes, Panameras and Macans with EPS.
I'll have to pay more...
Curious, why are people all in on PSP? In past Porsches, it was something to avoid as it made the steering artificially light to the point where people would often code it off (as it came as part of the Premium / Premium plus packages). It doesn't change any hardware, does it?
My 911 was just in for service and I got a loaner Macan. This one had surround. The rear view camera is shockingly awful, in either mode. Worse than my wife's 2014 Cayenne, and way, way worse than my Model 3. It's really quite distorted. The surround view does help quite a bit, it's pretty...
Yeah, my wife has a Cayenne now and I wouldn't try to sell her on a Taycan CT as a replacement. She has grown accustomed to the height, we regularly fill the boot with child detritus or shopping, and for multi-day road trips, it's just too cramped. Even the CT, with it's expanded boot and...
Man, how big are your kids? The rear seat on a CT is not exactly full-sized SUV spacious, and the center tunnel is quite large.
I don't want to steer you out of one, but I would make sure you sit in one before hand with the family.
IMO, matte black is played out. If it were a different color, I'd vote satin (Satin Frozen Berry or Frozen Blue would look fantastic). But black? Stick with shiny.
Also, IMO, PPF on the whole car is overrated unless you feel like it's saved you in the past. I've only ever done the front...
This is
This is 10,000% correct. like guys (and it’s always the guys) when you join the club, act like the new guy. Don’t try to swagger in like you’ve been here the whole time and know as much or more as everyone else. We see right past that crap.
Dude, we get it, you don't like Tesla. You're not contributing anything to the thread. Every time the word is mentioned you get triggered. Often for no reason.
I can completely understand being exactly in the OP's shoes, why he asks the questions and where his curiosity comes from. This...
My thought is your above statement is definitely false. Batteries absolutely lose capacity over time and it's absolutely related to how much fast charging you do, how close to the extremes of the battery storage you get, and how long you hold it there.
Does your 2 year old cell phone still...
What if you grew up with all of your cars having the fuel door close on it's own, and then you suddenly owned a car without it? That's what it's like if you've owned a Tesla before.
This.
This isn't something tragic that will long term affect the car or the resale value. I wouldn't worry about a new battery swap in the slightest from a mechanical perspective.
Unfortunately given the state of the global supply chain, especially when it comes to automotive, long lead...
