Dave,
Really great information. That should be extracted into a “Welcome to EV Driving FAQ” which we should write/assemble sometime... soon.
I just wanted to expand on a subject you touched on: “the reliability of the EV charging network”.
Our charging network is different that Tesla’s. We...
I wouldn’t tolerate that experience anywhere. I’ve had excellent experiences at Porsche, BMW, Toyota, and even buying a Honda Fit.
I’ve also had experiences so bad (stereotypical, perhaps?) at Dodge and BMW dealers that I left the salesperson’s office cussing a blue streak as I walked through...
As @wemet stated, the Profiles and Timers are always ignored when using a DC Fast charger. DC Fast charging is always the equivalent of “Direct Charging”.
I saw one charging station in New Hampshire behave that way. It would charge for a minute or three then quit. All other stations at that...
No. I haven’t tried any other public forum. I don’t really want to be a dick about this. I don’t want to hurt Porsche. I just want a fix.
I can easily see certain EV blog sites (who are bent towards the cult of Elon) trying to damage Porsche. Or at least gloat about it. I don’t really...
I’m sure, from what limited information my dealership has shared, that Porsche is aware of the problem and wants a solution... but there doesn’t seem to be any fix yet.
Loop has not been closed. Bug has not been fixed.
My Advice:
Basically, if you are connected to a Level 2 charger, do not connect to the car via the smartphone app and change Timer or Profile settings.
Porsche has never made direct contact with me. Never directly ask me for help. My...
If there is a problem, it might not show up until the wiring has heated up and resistance is increased to the point that the charging station detected it.
You could change the maximum charging Amperage on the charging station. Maybe drop it to half whatever it is set to for now. Until you can...
Do you have a "preferred charge time" set?
If your preferred time is set for 2200-0600 or something like that, it will immediately charge 80% (your minimum) then pause... until it calculates if it starts charging again, it will be done at 0600. So, maybe it will start charging again at 0430.
