Taycan to Lofoten Islands, Norway (Follow Our Trip Report)

Have a great trip! There's been a lot of "weather" these first few weeks of 2024. Just make sure you don't make a wrong turn into the x-country ski trails. It happens quite frequently.

    taycan replacement

At least you can't accuse it of being boring  And it did win the Norwegian winter range test with 522 km.

    taycan replacement

Surely the HiPhi Z should be on the list!

Easee Home Charger Issues / Timers

And you have the access as open? Other than that I cant think what it might be. When I plug in the car it will always charge for a few minutes, which I assume is for the car to figure out when to start the charge to hit the timer.

Easee Home Charger Issues / Timers

The Schedule on the Easee app front page should be kept to Off

    DC charging issue/failures

As others said, you'll be fine with RWD. Most people here in Norway still only have 2WD. Where AWD is quite useful is on the occasional steep icy backroad. But you could always invest in the chains. They're super easy to install and then you'll get up anything.

    Chrono digital clock, broken?

You might want to check if it's turned off in the PCM: Settings->Displays->Additional Instrument

    Alarm Syatem

Or double click the lock button. The car will respond with three blinks and the alarm is turned off. Lots of ferries here in Norway and the car deck is always a cacophony of car alarms.

    Heating Failure

Somewhat interesting article how Porsche is using AI to target which cars gets heater replaced first.

Has anyone been able to "unlock" features or functions on their Taycans?

Has anyone managed to set the auto regen setting to on by default, either by themselves or by the dealer? The one thing I do every time I get in the car.

Defect bike carrier- NO guaranty says porsche

These bikeracks are produced by Atera so hopefully it should be possible to get spare parts from them. I would be surprised if most of the parts are not reused from other more common models.

    Heating Failure

Porsche in Norway is apparently doing a voluntary retrofit of the heaters. Mine packed it in this weekend and I was told it was already due to be replaced in a few weeks time when I'm booked in for the 2 year service.

Chassis height in different modes - it should be simple but it's not?

I do notice that the ride height often will not rise when going from range to normal, at least the dash icon does not change. I then have to cycle through sport for it to reset.

Comfort access via function on demand

You can always wait for black week and get 15% discount. With the discount the FOD price was only marginally higher than if I’d pony up at original purchase.

List your favorite internet radio stations

All the BBC channels are gone from the Taycan after the channel re-org :(. I mostly listen to BBC Radio 6 Music, and now also KCRW as an alternativ. Although 6 music still works through CarPlay.

Winter And Cold Temperature Weather EV Range Loss - % loss in popular models (chart)

Here's a winter range test that does include the Taycan https://www.motor.no/aktuelt/motors-store-vintertest-av-rekkevidde-pa-elbiler/217132 In Norwegian but I'm sure Google translate doesn't botch it too bad :)

    Dealer Goodies at delivery?

A bottle of Porsche branded Champagne ? But it's better than last time when I got two bottles of Porsche branded still water

    Why I Dumped Carplay

Native navigation isn't much better if you ask me. In the city it has the tendency to send me down super narrow alleyways because it's 5m shorter than the main road. I still have PTSD from last time I had to do a 28 point turn to get back to the main road. Google maps for me whenever I think...

Brutal efficiency from 1,200 road trip this past weekend in CT4S with WNK1 update

Anything mounted on the outside of the car is going to be a bit of a range killer. At the back is a lot better than on the roof, but still very noticeable.

    Dealer Experience in Norway

I found the Stavanger dealership to be excellent. They would not necessarily give updates proactively but would reply to email within the hour (of which I sent quite a few) with the current V code in their system. I never got the sense that they grew tired of the constant pestering with tweaking...
