So I go to a nice new EA site just opened near me (the site is in Carle Place, New York, USA):
The Good News:
1. all the hardware was working
2. Plug and Charge also worked fine
3. the Porsche GPS actually had the (new!) location in it (a pleasant surprise)
The Bad News:
4. EA put in 4 brand...
I am an Irish American (named Galway!) and love the beautiful town of Galway (and the Spanish Gate)..but that rain is a bit much. I hope you enjoy your new Taycan: mine has been lots of fun!
I have the RWD with the "small" battery and it does fine..range ends up about 260 miles (summer) and weight savings, as noted, is substantial (as well as the cost savings!)
I certainly hope that happens...ironically I am planning a trip to Colorado next summer but gotta admit chargers have concerned me...your comments make me feel better about the trip!
I just got my recall also...I have no plans to take it to the dealer for this (it certainly is not a critical issue; more of a technicality)..if car is at dealer for something else I will address at that time.
In my 8 months of experience, on the East Coast, there are very few FAST chargers other-than-EA....(and EA is free (for Taycans) when it works)...so don't bet the farm on alternatives!
I have been trying to plan a trip from New York to Denver next summer and the "infrequency" of decent chargers along the interstates is concerning. (EA is the most common option, by far, and EA is not dependable; that is scary if the next fast charging option is 75 miles away!)
there is a TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) from Porsche that says this (temporary German words..) is "normal"...hard to believe that quality German engineering includes this "feature"
I have Plug and Play activated and it usually works at EA for me. That having been said, a suggestion, if you have a plug and play issue, is to turn it off (temporarily) in the PCM so it does not interfere with other options you will be trying.
absolutely agree! and am pleasantly surprised by how good acceleration is while at speed (e.g accelerating from 45 mph to 65 mph..almost instant! )(and I have the lowest power Taycan..)
sure..use the data at these links:
