Doug DeMuro Taycan GTS ST Review

The question is, have these changes already been made to other models, or will the GTS see significantly more range once it gets into buyers' hands and the other models get the updates later for some reason (maybe included with the new PCM?)?

Doug DeMuro Taycan GTS ST Review

Probably most interesting was the good quality recording of the sport sound around 11 minutes in. Doesn't look like he had the updated PCM interestingly, but he did mention that there was increased cooling in the motors with the GTS model, which was the first I'd heard of that. Waiting for my...

    Standard gts rims

I seem to be the only one, but I like the standard wheels.

Would you buy your Taycan again?

I think it all comes down to Porsche treating it like a car first, and an EV second. Nearly every other EV out there you could just look at and know for sure it's an EV. The designs either look like they're trying to design "The Car of the Future", or they let engineers design the car based on...

Minimum sized garage for a Taycan?

I'd plan for 50-100cm on each side of the car where you want to be able to walk depending on your size and dealing with a tight squeeze every now and then if you're a bit off the mark on your parking.

Taycan in cold climates - your experience?

Honestly, anything with summer tires is going to be miserable in snow. They become so hard that they might as well be plastic wheels on a toy car. Even on bare pavement, you're likely still taking a good deal of risk if the temp is below freezing..

Would you buy your Taycan again?

I often feel like the people who clamor for more frequent software updates outright ignore that it's very likely that there will be an update they dislike, and can only ever envision updates being "good" things that they can think of. I really don't get it, because it seems like such a...

The quietest drag race ever - Turbo S vs. Plaid vs. Lucid

I agree, you can certainly give Porsche crap for how they handle all the various trim levels and the dozens of options available to try and get people to upsell themselves, but at no point have I felt like they were trying to deceive me. When one company needs to put their car in extremely...

Felicity Ace ship on fire in the Atlantic carrying Porsches

Oh gosh, if you want a sad chuckle, just look at the comments on that article. So many uneducated folks with an axe to grind...

The quietest drag race ever - Turbo S vs. Plaid vs. Lucid

Seriously, I don't think I could trust myself with anything under 3 second 0-60. It's just such a crazy amount of power. If the GTS wasn't the only way to get the Sport Turismo body in the US, the 4S would have be plenty for me to handle. That said, with all those cars lined up like that...

Porsche update sent to us PCNA/Dealer personnel

Yes, I'm sure the crew on the ship have some sense for how things went down, but I was replying to a guy that posted an article saying that the batteries might have been the source when the article said nothing of the sort. Also, sorry, but that image means absolutely nothing. Plenty of the...

Porsche update sent to us PCNA/Dealer personnel

I don't see anything implying that the batteries were the source of the fire. They specifically say "It was not clear whether the batteries first sparked the fire." which I think is pretty clear that there is zero evidence about what actually started the fire.

Taycan GTS and GTS Sport Turismo *USA ORDER AND ALLOCATION THREAD*

Acid green, it's going to be noticeable to say the least. Hoping the PTS option also makes it less likely that my build gets delayed because of any Taycans they need to rebuild because of the big ship fire, since it sounds like PTS ends up going through a slightly different assembly line. This...

"2022 Lucid Air: The makers of the first 500-mile EV should be taken seriously" - Article link

Agreed. It's super encouraging that we now have real 500 mile cars (I think even the Model S Long Range doesn't get 300 miles at 75 mph), but man is that design so divisive. If that powertrain was in almost any other body and from an established manufacturer, I'd probably abandon the Taycan...

Felicity Ace ship on fire in the Atlantic carrying Porsches

My take on that would be that if the problem was so bad that it burst into flames mere weeks after manufacturing, it would have had to be a defect of quite monumental proportions that would be quite unlikely for such a car to ever make it more than a few months of driving without burning up. If...

Everyone with PPF: Does PPF look TOO glossy??

Not to be too harsh here, but I couldn't care less what the designer wanted the car to look like. Heck, I value my toddler's input on color more than the designer, since they'll actually see the car on a daily basis. In all seriousness, Porsche certainly understands that PPF/ceramic...

Felicity Ace ship on fire in the Atlantic carrying Porsches

Not really sure what you mean here. I can't imagine there will be much debate about what should happen to the cars left on the ship unless it's very clear that some portion of the cars were completely undamaged, and unless it's clear that a Taycan was the root cause of the problem, I find it...

Delivered after over 1 year of waiting - My Production Estimated Dates vs Actuals

Felicity Ace ship on fire in the Atlantic carrying Porsches

Looks like they're saying there were about 1,110 Porsches on it: https://www.thedrive.com/news/44340/189-bentleys-lots-of-audis-are-on-that-burning-cargo-ship-adrift-in-the-atlantic That said, with 70k annual sales in the US, that's less than a week of production, so it ideally shouldn't impact...

    Matrix headlights approved!

Regardless of whether they do actually enable this on existing Taycans, I'm so excited that we finally updated our archaic laws to allow for this tech. It's crazy how many people in the US don't even realize that not only does this exist, but that it's been working for years (maybe even...
