Yep, it's definitely putting my mind at ease, since I have another ~3 months of waiting left. Some of the posts around here can be somewhat unsettling.
Y'all seriously haven't seen some of the nightmares that people have had with Apple?
Louis Rossman also runs a repair company and youtube channel that exists almost solely because of how upset people get about Apple support.
Don't want to turn this into an Apple chat though, just...
Yikes, those must be some interesting roads you got there. The 5" ride height of the ST and sedan certainly isn't high, but I also can't say I've seen too many folks here complaining about the ground clearance.
Legally it varies quite a bit based on location, generally based on some number of days out of service within the first year or so of ownership. That said, Porsche still needs to uphold their warranty, which could mean a buyback if that's truly the easiest option for the dealer and Porsche.
Apple owning Porsche sounds like an awful idea from a long term maintenance perspective. Just seeing how they treat repairs for their own devices tell you all you need to know. Yes, the software itself might be better, but god help you if there's ever a mechanical issue.
Ah, yeah, I typo'd the 83.7 to 83.4. Anyways, that does seem to be a larger buffer than other manufacturers at this point. Should be interesting if in a few years they decide that they can get by with a smaller buffer and up the range for everyone.
Got any sources for those numbers? None of those seem to match up with ev-database.org, and it's pretty widely reported as a 83.4 usable for the Taycan in every publication I could find, with nothing supporting the 87.4 number.
I'm with you. The floating dash screen is kind of neat for a bit, but it strikes me as one of those features that's trying too hard to look futuristic, and in 5 years will look super dated.
Sounds like you've got an axe to grind here, all over your car being in the shop for 9 days? Knowing nothing about the issue at hand, it seems like an odd thing to jump immediately to get the car lemoned, but maybe that's something for another thread to talk more about whatever is going on there.
The Taycan is by far the most compelling car for me at this point as well, but I think it's way too difficult to predict what the EV market might look like in even just 4 years, which would be the earliest I'd potentially be looking at something new. I expect at least half a dozen strong...
It seems kinda silly, but I hope they do for the fact that too many people simply look at the spec sheet and then say "Why wouldn't you get a Model S that goes twice as far?" It's so frustrating how poorly the industry has decided to handle range estimates of new cars. Literally just tell me...
Just keep your eyes on the road and it will all be fine ;)
In all seriousness though, I'm going with the GTS and Race-tex interior, and just reminding myself that at the end of the day, the car is for driving, not for me to protect for the next owner. Yeah, I'm going to clean up messes when...
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and I am mine as well. If I found that my GTS missed out on the PCM update, I honestly wouldn't care one bit. Am I suggesting that it's a bad idea for Porsche to roll this update out to older models? No, I'm simply posting here to make it clear that...
No, you misunderstand, I don't want anything changing OTA. Not the colors, not the algorithms, nothing. That agility you mention with AWS is a risk in my mind when it comes to cars, in that any change introduces risk. The faster you can push out changes, the faster you can cause widespread...
I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but the thought of weekly or even monthly updates for my car scares the crap out of me, and this is coming from a younger person in IT with a literal rack of computer equipment at home that I keep up to date on a regular basis. I want my car to be a...
With the exception of people that really care about wireless android auto and spotify integration, I'm not so sure anyone will really notice. I'm sure it will have some other small improvements here and there, but it seems pretty early to declare that this PCM update will somehow impact used...
Alright, full send on the acid green! Good thing I'll be getting a full body PPF, because I'm sure it will get attention anywhere I go, and I'd probably snap if I saw some kid posing on it as if they owned it if I didn't have the PPF.
