! I just got off the phone with High Wycombe, soonest they can do is the middle of June(!) (middle of July if I needed a loaner...)
I'll try Silverstone tomorrow as they're not much further away for me...
To save you reading the entire navigation thread, the workaround is to disable the dynamic charge planning in the navigation settings. Which limits its usefulness, but at least stops the crashing.
My UK dealer have confirmed it's a known issue but have no further info on release date or installation process. I've just booked a trip to Germany in late May, and booked the ferry with the Taycan registration, but I'm not holding out hope for a fix before then...
I've had that a few times. Had a random crash, realised charge management had come back!
I've just renewed my Connect sub today. I should kick up a fuss about the useless nav because £23 a month is a bit rich for a system that doesn't work properly.
Are you guys talking about the charger that's inside the armrest? Where you have to like 'clip' the phone in? If so, it doesn't even really work with my 17 Pro because the camera 'bump' stops it making good contact :CWL: I just go old school and have a USB cable in the arm rest...
It's worth a try, but so far the only thing I've found that reliably stops it crashing is to disable the charge planning, which is fine for shorter journeys but obviously totally defeats the point for long trips. (I've also noticed that charge planning seems to re-enable itself sporadically and...
I’ve got a few big European drives this summer and I’d quite like to take the Taycan for the challenge of driving an EV across Europe… But the useless nav, and my lack of faith that it’ll be fixed in time, is making me think twice.
What are the alternatives? ABRP with a premium subscription...
Guessing is fun!
I bet it’s a null pointer. Something returns null (after a timeout?) when it’s busy instead of handling it gracefully. At least it’s not deadlocking 🤪
that’d be a very easy fix though so it’s probably not that simple.
The most complex and difficult to solve issues I’ve dealt...
Good luck.
I live just outside London and it’s generally fine when I’m pottering around the Home Counties. But drive on the M25, or in London, and it’s crashing constantly.
Ha, is this intentional or is it a kmh vs mph misunderstanding in the system?
I was driving a BMW with the full driver assistance plus stuff on autobahns yesterday and when it prompted me to set the speed to ‘derestricted’ I thought, wahey here we go! … and it set it to 130kmh
What I’m getting...
If the hypothesis is correct, that the constant crashes are out of memory problems caused by caching HPCs for dynamic charge planning, it seems implausible that the simple fix isn’t to simply exclude anything further than <current range of car + fudge factor> kilometres off the planned route...
Great trip. I'm about to fly to ski and now I'm wishing I'd chosen to drive instead!
Driving in Europe always highlights just how bad the UK road infrastructure is now :(
I have Octopus controlling my charger (Hypervolt 3). The car has direct charging disabled, and I have a very basic charging profile set to 80%.
When I plug the car in, I get an error in the Porsche app saying there's a problem with the charging equipment (I ignore this as it's presumably just...
I live in the middle of nowhere so it's very dark and I'm pretty sure my matrix lights go into auto 'high beam' mode almost as soon as I pull out of the bottom of my drive, so I'm probably doing less than 20mph. I'm not sure there's a minimum speed, I think it's more about ambient light as...
Congratulations on the new car!
I was browsing around the trip records in my car's ('22 GTS Turismo) app earlier and the long term value (over the car's first ~20,000 miles) is 3.0mi/kwh.
I've been seeing values closer to yours (2-2.5mi/kwh) in the few weeks since I've had the car. I put the...
