Moment of truth this morning! After checking everything yesterday, I awoke excited to see if it had worked as expected. And had it?!
... No.
So now I'm stumped.
Right, I see. I haven't done anything different this time, to what I'd done the other times, except for going out to the car and checking what was set in there... So it'll be interesting to see if it works.
edit: Although the climate in the car was last set to 20, not 19.
Well, it was enabled anyway so I haven't touched it.
I just enabled my timer for 0600, sent it to the car then, after it'd sent successfully, walked out to the car to see what it looked like.
Timer in app:
View in car when I first got in (note: the '--c' is curious...):
And after PCM had...
Thanks for the suggestion. I've just had a look in my app and I can get the day names, like in your screenshot, if I enable 'Repeat' (the top option, 'Herhaling' in Dutch it seems, you learn something every day!)
I think I have 2 things to try:
1. Check the preconditioning option in the car's...
That’s interesting, thanks. My car starts preconditioning when I unlock it from the fob (regardless of timers being set), I’d assumed that because it did that, I had all the necessary ‘car-side’ settings enabled.
I’ll have to go check what’s enabled now.
It’s as simple as it gets. Got to 0550 as I was getting ready to leave and nothing had happened.
I only want it to pre heat the cabin to defrost the car, I’m not expecting it to pre heat the battery etc.
A few times now I’ve set my preconditioning timers for times I need to leave, as the tooltip in the app suggests.
10mins before the time I’ve set, I check the app and nothing’s happened. I’ve had to enable preconditioning manually to get it to do anything.
Have I misunderstood how the timers...
I did my first ‘long’ trip in my Taycan over the last two days and thought I’d use the PCM nav on the way home after using CarPlay on the way out… What a mistake 😂
It crashed and restarted 4 times in my 1.25 hour journey.
Usually the crash was preceded by the route freezing while the car...
That’s my guess but I wasn’t sure if they’d get a callback from the Hypervolt to know whether the car’s been unplugged or not. But I suppose they must do, having thought about it some more.
Thanks for confirming. User error!
Yeah that’s how I have mine set up; Octopus controls the Hypervolt not the car, because I’d read all the problems here with them controlling the car! It’d all worked well so far, just this problem overnight but maybe I’m just doing it wrong and need to unplug / replug if I want a top up?
