I prefer the wide power band and instant throttle response to any IC engined car with a turbo, and the wide power band beats normally aspirated ones too.
FWIW I haven't driven my 2-seater for 2 years, the only thing wrong, for me, is the width - it is far too wide to be nimble on our local roads...
The problem is, it isn't speeding!
One moment it is blocking you in going slowly and soon after you get from the inside lane to the overtaking lane the whole peloton of them speeds up - IMO it lulls people into a false sense of security too.
Just goes to show internet forums are not a place to get facts ;)
When I ordered mine neither Bose nor Burmester were available due to component shortage and due to being a music lover, and having a home audio system more expensive than the Taycan, I thought it may be a deal breaker based on...
I do now on cars with it but on a clear motorway I used to use cruise control before all cars were adaptive, and now with my Taycan specced how I wanted I use it again.
Mind you I probably still use it fewer than 10 times per year, try to avoid motorways as much as possible.
The problem is that...
Weird, I find the standard system uncoloured with an even frequency response with the tone controls neutral. I have never had it anywhere near maximum volume.
OTOH I have low expectation of the potential of car sound due to physics...
The estate car versions have 20% more drag so use more energy on motorways.
I charge to 100% if I am going on a long journey.
In winter on 20" winter tyres my CT4S gets around 200 miles on runs which are more than 50% motorway and 230 if I stick to interesting roads.
In summer on 21" summer...
I remember the PDP11 coming along.
I remember a 5 megabyte hard drive (I think) the size of a washing machine needing 3-phase power when we installed the first CAD/CAE system at Williams in 1985. It ran on a VAX machine and cost £50k per seat.
I was system manager, in the absence of anybody else...
Exactly. I see no reason why a whole industry won't grow up to rebuild and/or update batteries in the same way piston engines can be rebuilt and tuned.
If I was starting out in the business that is what I would probably do.
I heard Porsche GB had added to the standard Taycan specifications so tried to spec a car to my liking and couldn't.
I do want a CT for the extra suspension travel but dislike the extra cladding, now standard and not un-selectable.
Secondly adaptive cruise is standard and I can't un-tick that...
My first place of work had an IBM 1620 and they were generous enough to let me put my personal stuff on the back of the weekend deck so it ran for free if the works stuff was finished!
Imperial had, iirc, a CDC6600 and IBM 360.
I chose a cross turismo for the extra suspension travel for farm tracks etc.
I am psychologically incapable of spending money on a SUV having spent my entire working life trying to make cars as light and aerodynamically efficient as possible!
Latest rumour for a while is that the monitoring software expected during Q1 (my dealer wasn't optimistic it would be ready before end of March even at the beginning of January) will now be available in Q2...
Until then I think the uncertainty will inevitably continue and even with monitoring...
Isn't that the cruise control display?
I prefer normal cruise so that is what I specced. If I engage cruise control I get a little dial which goes green or grey if active or not when cruise is enabled on the button on the end of the stalk.
There is presumably a more complex display for adaptive...
