My wife loved her 2016 BMW 330i and our plan was replace w/ a new BMW, preferably electric, this year. Then we saw the new BMW front-end design at a local auto show.
She took one look and said, "no way." Shortly thereafter started shopping for a Taycan.
UPDATE: Perhaps obvious to everyone else, I just discovered that the brightness/dimness of the camera image is affected by the brightness setting for the Taycan display on which the camera image appears. I had mine set at "-5" ... when I went to "+5" the brightness of the image improved noticeably.
Awesome app!! Thank you!!! Installation was straightforward (my fears that the instructions were too sparse were unfounded -- I did have to reboot the watch). The Taycan watch app itself is already great. I made it a complication ... looks very good, performance already is fast IMO. Looking...
I'm very, very happy w/ MY RWD but wouldn't be surprised to take quite a hit if I needed to sell it (I don't). The whole auto economy is undergoing a reset.
But if I were in the market today and reading this forum, I'd be quite concerned about the many reports of lengthy stays in Porsche shops...
I've also tested my unit running at 40 amps. Even on hot days I'm not seeing anything like these reported (very high) temperatures. That said, since these reports surfaced I began mostly charging the Taycan at night, esp. in the summer.
This is great news. Three questions: If Sleep Mode is disabled will that result in the PMC+/PMCC being on continually? Would that risk significant wear-and-tear on the unit over time? If on constantly would there be a significant use of electricity from the 220v line over time?
Here in San Luis Obispo there are about 40 Tesla charging stations within a very small downtown (1-2 sq. miles) area. The great majority of these stations are unoccupied at any given moment. One, behind a Target, seemingly never has more than 1 or 2 Tesla's charging.
Yes, I also live in a coastal town and have noticed readings which seem about 100 feet higher than what I'd expect. Perhaps the +/- for the Porsche altimeter is about 100 feet? Wouldn't make much difference in New Mexico or Wyoming but quite noticeable adjacent when driving adjacent to a beach...
Around here (Central California) EA has changed maximums of a number of its pumps from 350kWh to 150kWh. At this point I'd say if this results in more reliability for this troubled network, it would be a good move.
Me too re: inexplicable loss of HUD after driving in the rain. I found it easy to get at the negative terminal of the 12V battery but it looked like a bit of trouble to actually temporarily remove the clamp off the post. So ... after disconnecting the battery very briefly (3 seconds a couple of...
Before you throw away your Porsche charger …
I recently got the 'dealer upgrade' on the charger and pretty confusing sticker. The default on my Porsche charging unit has been 20 amps/hr. for several months since it is wifi connected. However, I've found I can adjust the charging rate to 40 amp...
No kidding??? That's very strange because I thought I used them successfully and quite visibly when driving in foggy weather. I have the base headlight option, btw. Thanks very much for this information.
I just got the PCM 6 update (took dealership just about a day). Most everything seems to be working and I like the new interface. However, I noticed that the front fog lights are now no-ops. Rear work and the console shows fog lights to be on.
Would welcome any suggestions other than returning...
I have an iPhone and am looking at the latest version of the MyPorsche App.
The quotes came from the online Taycan manual which I accessed through MyPorsche app. (I can provide exact navigation details ... it was under "Charging". However, I'd never looked at the "Edit Timer" screen (unless...
Thank you very much for pointing this out. I just looked at the MyPorsche app and it has two contradictory instructions: "charge the high-voltage battery with AC to a maximum charge state of 85%. Use timer." AND "Use time ... to program a high-voltage battery charge lever of approx. 80% for...
