Porsche's PCM easy of use and general interface is way better than e.g. Audi's MMI - at least on the Q4 where there are a bunch of bugs.

Agree - just have a hard time with the build and in particular interior quality of Aston Martin's - nowhere close to as good as Porsche. Also the infotainment seems terribly dated in their cars including the newly released models. But esthetically they are a slam dunk, no doubt.

I'd say waiting for CarPlay to connect each time is the only annoying aspect of the PCM. This should happen instantly.

I mean if you really can't wait and don't like knitting, just get a second hand Taycan immediately (spec that maintains value really well) then sell it once your new one arrives.

Pano roof is definitely a big plus + creates a more spacious cabin experience and looks great.

22kW stations (Source London) are being rolled out across central London at a fairly impressive rate, so helpful for charging locally if you need semi-quick charging rate.

Recently checked with a London-based Porsche dealership and they want almost GBP 6k for retrofitting a 22kW onboard AC charger on my 4S MY20. Sounds a bit excessive and am curious what others have been quoted, also from locations outside UK.

Couldn't be more true. I have to admit that while I have had an amazing time with my 4S so far, I am already mildly tempted to "upgrade" to Turbo/Turbo S.

The reason I decided to buy one second hand - the dealer in UK said the lead time for anything that is not RWD currently sits around 9-12 months.

Thanks. One more aspect to add - I took the A71/A75 running through Clermont-Ferrand since it was the most direct route, and while picturesque there were pretty much no nice hotels along the entire stretch. Would likely plan it via Dijon and Lyon next time.

Agree on all points re. the charging network in France and Spain - could definitely be improved. Also had a good experience with Porsche dealership charging in Mallorca + friendly staff. Seems like you had a fun trip!
