My understanding is that except for Ionity (GBP 0.30/kWh), the Porsche charging service uses a kWh+minutes used flat rate based on charger speed and not network.
When using Shell through Porsche that means that you're paying GBP 0.31/kWh +GBP 0.33/minute vs. GBP 0.85/kWh using their own app or...
The London Porsche dealer where I first tried a Taycan had an RWD as demo, and for some reason he was very reluctant to take us somewhere where you could accelerate properly or for that matter do anything else than slow city driving;) Test drove a 4S the proper way a few weeks later and was...
Rattling sound from rear seats
For the last couple of weeks there's been a consistent rattling sound from the rear seats area (as per linked audio file). Typically I can hear it when breaking and accelerating at low speeds (sub 10-15 mph). Any advice on the cause and how to fix this would be...
There are plenty of amazing places in Europe to drive at fun speeds and where the low traffic density means that it can be done safely.
With that said, many parts of Switzerland and for example central London are full of cameras that makes it very difficult to avoid fines of various kinds...
In the UK people are very moody, with the level of generosity for compliments closely correlated with the weather. So during the summer the car gets plenty of looks etc but during the winter months less so;)
This would be a much welcomed upgrade - and hopefully also available for earlier MY's.
The PCM is generally easy to use and not particularly buggy, but pretty much only use CarPlay for anything navigation, audio and comms related.
The rudeness and general bad attitude experienced at TWO London dealerships owned by Porsche Retail Group (West London and Mayfair) is simply unacceptable. There are clearly one or two bad apples in management and certainly a bad work culture across the lower ranks.
I wish this was also the case in the UK - here you (or the company owning the car) are legally obligated to provide driver information relating speed camera fines and most of the time will get points.
London is packed with speed cameras and other traffic enforcement cameras + most roads in the central parts are 20 mph. In other words, not a particularly fun environment to make best use of a sports car.
With that said, plenty of fun countryside roads outside the city to enjoy ones Taycan on...
For those based in the UK and buying it through their company, I would argue that the 2% BiK, up to 100% capital allowance, other tax deductions and assuming the residual value continues to be strong Taycan is definitely a fantastic cost/quality trade-off.
I'd say the one thing that is mildly annoying is the time it takes for CarPlay to activate - should be more or less instant.
It would also be nice to be able to switch between the new colored icons and the legacy PCM monochrome design.
Had two bad experiences at Porsche Retail Group dealerships in London - you would think the Porsche-owned dealers strive for higher standards, but unfortunately had the completely opposite experience. Questionable upselling tactics, borderline rude staff etc.
As others have noted Northern California and in particular the Bay Area is the last place in US I would imagine anyone is paying particular attention to a Taycan.
I'd say just enjoy the fantastic driving experience and care less about what others might think:)
