Yes, the dealer I bought the car from should have replaced the front tires since they were 3 mm at the time of sale, vs 5 mm for rear.
Having a fairly basic knowledge of cars that check slipped through the cracks, but will definitely be more diligent next time around.
I agree, no reason to pay a premium under normal circumstances.
Since the car is already there for 20k servicing I'm letting them do the tire replacement this time around though.
Yes, I agree.
Porsche claimed they were already BELOW the legal requirement, so I went ahead with the tire replacement on that basis. When I then asked the dealer who sold me the car for a second opinion they disagreed and from what other posters have noted, they do look legal but low which I...
Thanks, this is helpful perspective. The tires were clearly well-used but in a decent condition when I bought the car.
I am sure Porsche sees an opportunity to sell some tires, but might as well get them changed.
Having my 4S in for the 20k service and software uPgrade, and the service location claims that all four Pilot Sport 4 tires need replacing as they are under the UK legal requirement (which is a minimum tread depth of 1.6 millimeters, across 75% of the tread around the complete circumference)...
Initially had my eyes on a crayon grey but went for CWM and am very happy with it.
As others have noted, the colour does best on sunny days and the London autumn weather is not particularly sparing - but at least my regular hand wash place is happy:)
In London there are now a bunch of 22 kW public chargers (Source London). They've been deploying them at a fairly rapid pace over the last year.
Not paying for a retrofit, but would definitely add it to a new build.
I agree re. better behavior. The one exception this summer was rural France where a few local men grunted in a very obvious manner when parked next to it:)
The biggest challenge with using most other cars after owning a Taycan for a few months is the giant rift in driving experience, build quality and general enjoyment!
With all the "windfall" O&G revenue the Norwegian state is generating from current energy prices you'd think reintroducing VAT on EVs would not be a priority.
On a related note, it will be interesting to see whether UK will extend the currently low BiK and other tax benefits for EV owners post...

If this existed for Taycan, black suede would take the top position;)
Seriously though, my vote goes for Volcano Grey Metallic or Carrera White (my color, so obviously biased).
Nice build overall, and the Performance Package is definitely a great call.
I have the SportDesign Package and though fairly subtle features does make the car look cooler, especially with White or Carrera White Metallic. Would probably get that instead of the VLC panorama roof.
Thanks for the report. Could not agree more re. the width issue on European countryside tracks, got thrown into the deep end navigating the infamously narrow mountain road to/from Port de Valldemossa this summer:)
My experience dealing with Porsche dealerships and servicing in e.g. Spain has been very positive, less so in UK where they seem to be operating under on a "squeeze as much as you can" regime.
It is likely pronounced in the London region (correct me if I am wrong) and Audi is even worse -...
Could not agree more re limiting interaction with most car sales people - honestly the Porsche Mayfair guy I spoke to (and test drove with, short trip luckily!) made me not want to buy my car from them. Found a much better dealership outside London which for a change was a pleasure dealing with...
