If you want to charge at 48A, you need a 60A circuit, and the charger will need to be hard-wired, as there are no residential outlets that are rated for more than 40A continuous (like a 14-50).
You can get a charger like the Clipper Creek pictured above, or any other charger for a 60A circuit...
I think I'd just pay to move the outlet if it's external conduit. Using an extension cord permanently just doesn't sound like a great idea. (Plus it'd look bad)
My 6-50 outlet is in the wrong spot for the PMCC, so I'll just keep using my current EVSE.
The screen only shows the PCM version, not the versions of the firmware on all the other ECUs in the car. You have to hook up a service tool like PIWIS to query all the ECUs for versions.
Your choice in tires will matter a lot more than choice in wheels, IMO.
Ultimately, you don't buy a Porsche to worry about the gas mileage (or range). Customize the p-car the way you want.
My salesperson could tell me the VIN and ship after I asked yesterday. Then I looked and the ship left later that afternoon. Given it's the first of the month, time to ask for monthly status? :P
After getting allocation and placing an order, I asked my salesperson for a screen cap of this:
Then I just asked monthly for an update or I'd ask a few days after a significant V code change should've happened. After V300, your salesperson can tell you the VIN and ship name. (At least mine...
Every time I hear this from someone in the Bay Area I have to think they've never lived anywhere with actual bad roads. We don't have winter, so you don't have entire highways turn to gravel from deterioration. I broke 3 wheels in the 3 years before I moved here in 2000, and none since. And...
Even when the battery is full, the MGU still has some breaking power, just that the energy is dissipated as heat, instead of power, so you will still feel some braking.
I received news today that my car will be leaving Emden 3 weeks ahead of schedule! Production finished 8/24, and the car got to Emden on 8/26.
My original dates were V331 on 9/04, and V332 on 9/25. Now my dealer inventory date is 9/25. :D
Now to hope for no adverse weather in the gulf...
You can get 40A from your 14-50 outlet, and that’s the max allowed by code. That’s 9.6kW, which is plenty. You can’t get 11kW from any charger that plugs in, as a 50A circuit is the max (which is 40A continuous). The 60A chargers in the US are hard wired. In the UK and Europe they have...
