Page scrolling doesn't solve discoverability, which is one reason why the icons are cut off. (The other being UI element sizes vs. available real estate)
If you have allocation, you should be able to get a list of dates. If there aren't dates, you don't have allocation. Your salesperson can give you a print out that looks like this (or at least give you a commission number):
There's also a thread about tapping the 12V for the mirror, which is probably what I'd try to do if I bother with anything other than Waze on CarPlay. :P
Yes, plenty of EVSEs are cheaper than $928. Anything with standard J1772 connector will work. I plan on continuing to use the ChargePoint 32A unit that's been in my garage for years.
Porsche doesn't have different markers in the US because they like orange. They're DOT required, so Porsche won't ever be offering them officially, as they technically aren't road legal.
Given that the 2020 cars were faster than their published numbers, I only trust dyno numbers and numbers from the strip. Porsche could advertise faster numbers without changing anything. :P
EA and VAG are using ISO 15118 to enable Plug & Charge on CCS. Likely they're turning up the capability slowly, depending on equipment. Hopefully it will eventually work with 2020 Taycans, as it's a feature of the 2021's.
Just means stitching different ('deviated') from whatever they consider 'normal'. Sometimes (though unlikely on Porsche) the 'normal' stitching is contrasting, such as platinum on black or something.
When iOS 12 came out and CarPlay started supporting Waze, I switched from Android to iOS for the Macan. No sense fighting that battle when both iOS and Android suck, and I really wanted good integration with the head unit.
Porsche says 90% of it's customers are on iOS.
I'd be surprised if there's no wiring overhead. Swapping mirrors at build time is trivial, but installing different wiring harnesses when other stuff needs power makes little sense.
I wondered when people who were excited about deviated stitching were going to notice that the price is usually a LOT. If it's listed as just contrast stitching, then yeah, that's quite the rip, but if it's deviated, then $$$.
At least we got Volcano Gray and not Agate Gray (which is brown, IMO). I dunno what I would've done if there was no Volcano in 2020... probably punted and waited to see if 2021 had more options...
Of course, 2021 has Chalk, which would've been my first choice, because my Macan is Volcano. :P
Given it's 100% up to the dealer what they want as a deposit, there's going to be a lot of variation. The dealer would like 100% deposit, and customers would like 0% deposit, and there's a whole lot of space in between for negotiation.
