I got my clear side markers a about a month ago from Suncoast. I ordered them well in advance of the car's arrival because they were supposed to be on backorder from Germany, but as it turned out they showed up in about 10 days.
I can't decide whether to have the dealer do the install or do it...
Another vote for the "steel" (actually it's aluminum) roof. Lighter weight, no extra cost and IMVHO better looking.
I love those photos of it in Dolomite Silver...my chosen color!
I don't think all (or even most) of the 41 liters is attributable to the Bose subwoofer. The Turbo has a larger rear electric motor/inverter than the 4S and I've read several articles that confirm that luggage volume is reduced in the Turbo for this reason.
I considered the powered charge port doors as our e-Tron has a version of them and they are cool. I decided against because:
a) My understanding that the vent is blocked by the powered door mechanism, my thought being that Porsche wouldn't have designed the car with open vents for no reason...
Nice analysis, Dave. Just to be clear, FWIW, I didn't specifically refer to PCCB's in my last post, or any brake type for that matter. My primary point was actually with regard to the 90% regenerative braking assumption relative to how I drive.
As you mention, it's true that braking is...
The "90% of the braking is done through regeneration" assertion is interesting because I'm certain that I engage the friction brakes in our e-Tron much more often than that, especially when driving briskly. I'm anxious to experience the Taycan's braking to judge it's characteristics for myself...
The indoor cover appears to available through Suncoast Porsche:
Indoor Car Cover - Taycan : Suncoast Porsche Parts & Accessories (suncoastparts.com)
My local dealer has also said they can get it for me.
I hadn't thought about WINGE's point regarding openings in the cover for the charging...
It wasn't my intention to misquote you.
You did say that Turbo power was safer and more "useable" on the freeway than 4S power was on local roads. In terms of whether I agree with that or not I think traffic and road conditions are important factors. From slow speeds on an open country road 2...
Tay Tay, respectfully, I'll just say that during my extended freeway test drive of a 4S I was able to effortlessly pass other vehicles and even very brief applications of full throttle resulted in 90+mph speeds. It convinced me that a 4S met all my requirements for acceleration in a road car...
As with many here, I'm sure, I considered this exact choice. My decision was to order a 4S with all the goodies I wanted for about $6k less than a base Turbo. If I had equipped a Turbo with the same options as the 4S the difference swelled to almost $30K.
The additional straight line speed that...
It will be interesting to see what they offer me when I take in the Taycan. The nearby Audi dealership is owned by the same people and the few times I've brought the e-Tron in I've gotten an e-Tron loaner.
In the past the Porsche dealership has given me a Cayenne or Macan, and once even a...
The table you've posted is from the http://www.pwl.de/en web site, correct? I had checked there previously and entered "US West - East Coast" and “Volkswagen Konzernlogistik Export” to get the same result you've displayed. Interestingly, none of the ships shown have ports of call in Benicia...
Nope, I don't have the VIN. The vessel name just showed up on the Track Your Dream site along with a new date, and once I had the name I looked it up on marinetraffic.com to see where the ship was.
I'm still not totally convinced the info is correct (it's the skeptic in me) so I'll be...
Ok, so this is weird.
I checked the tracking site again yesterday and a vessel name (Glovis Supreme) is now associated with my car. While it's next port of call is Bremerhaven my "on vessel" date was still being shown as 4/23 which made me wonder if it was making another run somewhere before...
My personal belief is that it's worth the money so I've always gone with full leather on a Porsche or, with rare exceptions, any other vehicle I've owned.
I plan to take our Lab Sadie in the Taycan just as we do in the e-Tron with the Nappa leather interior. Fold down the rear seats, thrown in...
Wart or no wart has been an argument since Sport Chrono and the analog clock first became available (on the 997.1 Carrera in 2005, I think). Count me as a wart fan, even in an EV.
To the OP, if you absolutely can't afford both, I'd personally choose RAS but I think you'll be doing yourself a...
