Dealing with the front license plate

Legality aside, the obvious advantage of the sticker is that you don't have to drill holes in the bumper. From a cosmetic standpoint, though, I'm afraid it looks little better than mounting the plate. IMHO.

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

My car arrived in Emden on 3/10. The original on vessel date was 4/9. Last week it was pushed to 4/16. Today it was pushed again to 4/23. WTF? Does anyone know if Porsches are stored in an indoor facility in Emden while awaiting shipment or are they sitting out and exposed to the elements?

PDCC Sport - how useful is it?

I had PDCC on a Cayenne and it made a very noticeable difference. The Taycan is a different animal, of course, with a much lower center of gravity to begin with so the effects of PDCC won't be as dramatic. That said, every review I've seen has remarked on how well the system works in the...

Anyone in the US take delivery recently?

Thanks. Interestingly, that PDF shows no dates for either San Diego or Benicia on the West Coast, for any of the vessels, although there are dates for arrival in Mexico. I know that in the past, vehicles that I've ordered have been on ships that stopped in Mexico on the way to California so...

Anyone in the US take delivery recently?

Mine has also been at Emden since 3/10 and Track My Dream says it won't leave until 4/16 although my salesman's internal schedule from Porsche presently shows it leaving on 4/9. Does anyone know if cars headed for the 2 coasts come over on different ships with different routes? Or...

How I fixed the door rattles

Thanks for your post. I'm a fanatic about rattles and am a big fan of using foam, felt, or weather stripping pieces to eliminate them. Now I'll know the areas to concentrate on if my car has door panel rattles when it eventually shows up.

    Weight: standard vs PCCB brakes

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Quite interesting. One additional thing to note with respect to your comment about wheel diameter. Porsche's 19" and 20" wheel offerings on the Taycan are cast while the 21" versions are forged. Forging results in a denser stronger metal than casting and...

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

Will do. If your My Porsche tracking info hasn't been changed to reflect a later date hopefully you'll be all right. If you're on the East Coast maybe it would be a different boat anyway. Thing is, I don't know the cause of the delay so it's difficult to speculate. Anyway, let us know when...

PSA - PG&E Slime ball move

I presently have the EV-A rate plan which is no longer accepting new subscribers (according to PG&E) and do not want to change plans. This heads up prompted me to access my account and decline the automatic rate change. Thanks for posting this info.

My 4s (Neptune Blue) delivery at PEC Atlanta

Congrats on your new Taycan and thanks for the writeup of your experience. Porsche did a special event for GT3 owners shortly after the Atlanta PEC opened in 2014 and it was terrific. I wish I could have arranged to pick up my forthcoming 4S at the LA center but just couldn't make it work. I...

Phone holders for the Taycan - what are you using?

Every time the ignition is turned off the nice "lady" in our e-Tron makes an announcement that "your mobile device is still in the vehicle" as a reminder to remove it from the charging cradle. Very convenient. The Taycan doesn't have a similar feature that you can enable?

    Weight: standard vs PCCB brakes

Well, this sucker is going to get great pleasure every time I look at my Taycan and see those big, beautiful, cross drilled PCCB brakes and yellow calipers behind Mission E wheels. Better eye candy than all the optional trims and treatments in the world and no regrets for the money spent. And I...

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

Thanks. So the software issue explains why cars are being held at US ports but it's still unclear why mine is being held at the port in Germany. Maybe it's just a backlog issue and they don't want to send any more over until the cars in the US is cleared.

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered a half dozen Porsches so I'm familiar with the waiting game but this is the first time that I've experienced a potential wait as long as a month at the jump off point in Emden. I will try to be patient, however: like I have a choice? :) BTW, I didn't order...

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

So, my 4S finished production 4 days early and arrived in Emden on 3/10. It was scheduled to be on a boat by 4/2 which seemed like a long time to wait in port but, oh well. Delivery scheduled for 5/7. Now the tracking web site shows that everything has been pushed out 2 weeks; on a boat by 4/16...

    Weight: standard vs PCCB brakes

Not to be pedantic, but I just have to point this out. I know folks refer all the time to Porsche's stock and PSCB brake rotors as steel, but they are cast iron. Sorry. Next, my almost 40 year experience with Porsche brakes is that they typically dust like crazy. The PCCB's on my GT3 produced...

    Weight: standard vs PCCB brakes

I had the opportunity to attend a Porsche tech session in Atlanta when I first got my 991.1 GT3. The GT3 had 380mm cast iron rotors as standard and 410mm PCCB's as an option and we got to handle them both. The weight difference was almost 11 pounds per wheel for the front rotors per the Porsche...

Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

Thanks. I've been through this waiting game a number of times so I'm aware that things can go awry on occasion. Hopefully you will get your software issue resolved soon and my car won't have the same problem. Anyway, good luck and I'll post when I know more.
