  1. Alignment 1.2k? Is this an excessive quote?

hm ok, interesting. I usually drive in Normal, maybe the stock alignment was tuned for Sport and thus with a slight negative camber?
  2. Alignment 1.2k? Is this an excessive quote?

Speaking of new tires, is it possible to get the new set aligned in such a way that it avoids the excessive inner tire wear that we all get? I don't mind the reduced cornering ability if that's what it takes. I assume it wouldn't reduce it that much anyway? Can't imagine that having the weight...
  3. GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Really? Can you share your source? This would be interesting info for my parents, who drive a Bolt. Definitely not going to recommend they road trip in it if the charging curves are that bad.
  4. "Don't drive an EV in [or to] Los Angeles unless you can charge at home" - Kyle video

To be fair, you did stop at arguably the best EA station in California :) Just built within the last year or 2 iirc, 10 bays instead of the usual 4, and good uptime.
  5. On off button on Taycan dangerous?

You can also press the left scroll wheel in to do the same.
  6. On off button on Taycan dangerous?

Honestly, the years of conditioning should have been to put the car in Park, not to shut the engine off while in Drive. This is how ICEs should have been operated as well. I would recommend you learn to use Park as turning the car off, as others have said! Then you never need to use the Power...
  7. Best way for wireless charging in Taycan

    It's this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BQMFGB4S?psc=1
  8. Taycan Problem - potential catastrophic tire failure

Yeah, mine is not nearly in that bad of a shape. Also, I don't have air suspension so my car is not capable of adjusting the ride height.
  9. Taycan Problem - potential catastrophic tire failure

FWIW at my last dealership appointment, they measured 3mm on the inner part of my rear tires which is below their spec, and recommended replacing. I'm holding out for now to try and squeeze more life out of them. Fronts are fine. I'm on a RWD with steel suspension, so no lowering possible. ~25k...
  10. EA Charging

Any other data points on whether renewing Porsche Connect services also includes a free renewal of the Porsche Charging Service?
  11. Best way for wireless charging in Taycan

This is also where I have mine mounted, agreed its a great location. I don't have it wired up so it's just a mount, but I like that it's out of the way and also makes the phone largely invisible against my black dash/interior. I have noticed that I often forget to take my phone with me when I...
  12. My Porsche (via web) being retired.

Losing FoD would be huge for me as I currently use it to activate ALK on a month to month basis when I go on road trips.
  13. Porsche Connect Service Cost is $319 in the US

Do we have any more data points on whether renewing Porsche Connect after the initial 3 years includes free EA charging for a 4th year? My renewal is coming up in June and I'm not sure just having use of the app is worth it (although not being able to check charge remotely sucks).
  14. Rear tyre wear

I have the stock Continental ProContacts on my '21 RWD. I'm at 24k miles and still plenty of tread left, though I have not measured. I generally drive fairly conservatively except for some quick turns on local streets which squeal the tires.
  15. Porsche Reimbursement for a non-Porsche wall charger

Thanks, and that is what they are asking for in the email right? Also, what is "check preference"?
  16. Porsche Reimbursement for a non-Porsche wall charger

To be clear, this is proof of Taycan ownership and proof of charger purchase, right? What's a suitable way to prove proof of Taycan ownership?
  17. Mark on driver seat (brand new Taycan)

I actually had a similar problem and swore it was the dealer that did this. But then I realized that when I get into the car, my right pants pocket sometimes will rub against exactly this part of the steering wheel, and that's where my keys usually are. Even through the pants material, I guess...
  18. Faulty cupholders?

This happened to me with one of my tabs early in my ownership as well. I actually forgot about it and tbh haven't noticed any reduced functionality. That being said I rarely put skinny bottles in there, which is where I assume the grabbing nature of the tabs would come in handy. Most standard...
