I had the same issue last when I tried to charge up 2 days after my Porsche service contract lapsed - they confessed that they had failed to send me out a reminder that I needed to renew it and i hadn't thought about it as I was just coming to the end of 2nd anniversary, not the 3rd ann when I...
My wife has a Polestar - would happily have it as my daily driver if I didn’t have the Taycan. Can’t match it, clearly, as a driving machine but good enough for 85% of journeys.
With a name like Colin The Bandit you don’t work for Porsche do you :-) This point has been raised numerous times over the last few years - I challenged an OPC on this 2 years ago and they basically told me I was lying about the “service fee”. Until I showed them a recent invoice I had got…...
I changed from Boom to Admiral 2 weeks ago as the former would no longer offer me insurance - mine's a business lease via a Ltd Co (so not LO or RK), I'm 59 with full NCB, no points (how ??), low crime area and I got it for £980.
Thought so - if you want to move a dialogue offline, let me know and I can give you my mobile/email. As I was driving away from Theale, I realised that I should have given you a contact for me as a 2 year Taycan veteran, I could maybe help with your initiation ..........
Only charge at OPC's if you can't charge at home or no Ionity station that you can use. I have just had my Sept charging bill from OPC (just once at Theale) - 0.2584p for Energy and 0.3667p for "service". When I have challenged Porsche about this, their only "defence" is to try and stop people...
To answer those questions - P&C simply recognises my 4S without needing to do anything else.
I use the RFID occasionally if needing to charge my wife’s Polestar - it works absolutely fine.
Just remember though that the rate isn’t that favourable since OPC charge you for time spent at the...
This has probably be covered already, but as I am not getting any help from my OPC I thought that I would try fellow TinCan'ers.
My profile at home is set to a preferred time of 0000-0700 and my Podpoint to exactly the same - however, as soon as I plug the charger in it starts charging (Direct...
Just to update my post of 10th March - my 4S went into my local OPC on 16th March for the new heater to be installed and the car was delivered back to me yesterday. So all in all only 2.5 weeks (and I was on holiday for 12 days of this and so my hire car was sat in a car park at Heathrow).
My experience (incl a 2,700 mile Euro road trip) is that Ionity are the best EV chargers to use when not charging at home - quick, reliable and cheap.
Please don’t get me started on how an OPC can get away with charging you twice as much and why their chargers aren’t accessible out of hours !!!
