12 Volt Battery Shortage

I'm presuming this is the same supplier that Porsche previously had a series of 12V battery failure issues with - if so "...three strikes and you're out"? ?

Sole sourcing and JIT manufacturing just don't work in this day and age given events of past 2.5 years and current.

Mine has been at the docks for ages. The docks are so full that they're not even sending cars there anymore - they're staying in the "compound" (whatever that is). Also, I'd imagine that cars at the docs either have batteries or will have them fitted first!

I suspected this is that "compound"... this is where TYD showed my car is at the moment (if it is accurate)

I guess so. That's where my car is since 07/12/22.
Its getting frustrated for me.

My pickup date at the Porsche factory is still confirmed for 9/14, but the sales agent told me he thinks it'll be cancelled and offered my a car until my Taycan will be ready.

I hope that my car will be prioritized, because there's not too much space in Zuffenhausen. From the german Taycan forum I know that actually still some cars are given to the buyers.

Curious if you ended up checking and saw a farm of taycans near your home?

The cars are stored inside. There are just a few outside who are prepared for transport to the train. I´ll take a picture next time I´ll be there.

latest note on TMD - Due to a supplier issue outside of our control, we are currently experiencing a shortage of 12V auxiliary batteries designed specifically for the Taycan. As a result of this situation, certain completed Taycan vehicles, are currently being held at the factory until the 12V auxiliary battery can be installed. We are working diligently to address this issue, and regret that your anticipated vehicle delivery date is being delayed

Received my taycan last Wednesday. It arrived at the dealer without the 12volt battery. They have a large stock of pre owned vehicles and just get the batteries from these vehicles and this way be able to deliver new taycans

Wow! You are lucky! I suggested this to my dealer but they weren’t open to it. Granted they only had 1 other Taycan on stock ? I wish I could get a battery from your dealer in Netherlands hmm

If you search for a recall/update using your vin, does the battery show up?

No I would doubt it - there is a stop sale in place and therefore the car hasn't been delivered. Recalls typically happen after customer delivery.
