Considering cars were still coming off the production line this week minus the 12V batteries, I find it hard to imagine them making their way to any cars sat at dealers for the forseeable future.

Yep, had the same info, but so far it seems nobody has received their cars retro-fitted. It’s even scarier. I’m expecting mine to be happening only on november
The last sentence from that update read:

"... and it will not be possible to prioritise the order in which cars are retrofitted with the battery"

That to me suggests they won't necessarily retrofit in order that the cars were produced, nor indeed by market or location.

M'y car is supposed to be built beginning of October. Hopefully they will be able to fit in the 12V battery.

Good to know this, but don’t you think that they would prioritize cars in the order that they were produced? Imagine how angry people would get to find out that new cars are being produced with batteries when theirs are dumped into dealer’s laps without it.

In my opinion this doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that there still is a backlog.

Mine is in production from 27th June. Has anyone have older production start date (V260)?

Unfortunately, I guess that the factory doesn't have to worry about dealers having room to store vehicles, whereas they do need to worry about storage in compounds at the factory and docks, where they need to get batteries fitted so they can free up space for complete vehicles coming off the production line.

By the conversation, he (the sales assistant) meant that they (the dealer) couldn’t not prioritize “special” clients in detriment to regular ones (like me). This would be ensured by the fact that is the factory that allocates the batteries to each VIN number.

He also point out that altought he had no oficial information, the batteries should be retrofitted according production date.

We will see. We are all just assuming and have no official answer, besides the claimed one with week 34, which may or may not be true.

I've been told my car doesn't have a 12v battery fitted and that it is due at dealer on 11th November (was 26th September before the battery timelines got taken into account). More waiting ?

Thanks for posting. Do you mean that your car was supposed to be delivered on 26th of September had it not been for the missing battery?

Yep exactly that. It was built on 25th August. I chased the dealer when I got the notification of completion and he had said it would probably be delayed into November. Today he confirmed this date. Who knows if it will actually be that date. Not his fault, but Porsche comms hasn't been good on this issue at all.

Thanks, and welcome to the waiting club! Please keep us posted with any new information you get.
Yeah I've been aware this would be a delay as obvs I've been reading the forum and brought it up with him when the 12v battery issue first arrived in the news pipeline

I have managed to speak to A123 Systems who are the producers of the 12V battery. They have let me know that they are still producing the batteries for Porsche but they have a backlog because of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) shortage. So it’s moving, but slowly.
