My tech knowledge is limited so i hope I make sense.

car has been in having PPF over the weekend. It was applied friday - 4 days ago but the shop wanted extra time to ensure the film adhesive had completely dried/cured. So over the weekend they’ve had the car and I’ve been checking the app and Ive seen it has been unlocked with a door showing open for 3 or 4 days. my question is - will this deplete and screw the 12v battery (is there one?) if there is a 12v battery will this charge automatically from the 800v system. I’ve not received any fault messages in the app but i notice the 800v system battery SoC has dropped by around 3% over these past days when it hasn’t been with me. Current charge 77%. Any issues i might expect?

When the 2020 Taycan came out this was a problem, but @louv did the detective work, consulted with Porsche, and the problem has been resolved.

As a general practice, I don't leave my computer browser logged into my.porsche simply to not have any on-going communication with the Porsche servers. However, the My Porsche app on my phone is never logged out.

Not sure that answers my question but maybe I misunderstood. I’m less concerned about my app interrogating the vehicle but more concerned that the car being unlocked and live for several days may result in other issues. 12v, etc.

I'm not aware of any issues that would affect your battery with the doors unlocked. My car sits in the garage unlocked when I'm out of town and there are no issues.

Yes, there is a 12V battery separate from the high voltage battery. The car will also shut down secondary systems as needed to help protect the 12V battery.

I have a 2020 turbo and I parked the car in the garage with the doors unlocked. I had this recurring problem of losing my LTE connection due to the car reverting to a transport mode. I always lock the car. The car should shut down to protect the 12V battery but I do not know if that is the case.

There is a separate 12volt battery that powers many of the Taycan's systems. Under normal circumstances, that 12volt battery is recharged by the 800 volt system. The 12volt battery might get discharged if the car was idle for a long period - weeks - and the 12volt system was being drained by some recurring load - for example a dash cam that continued to draw power - when the car was off.

In your situation, with HV battery state of charge over 70% and no continuous electric load on the car, there should be no problem.

I can't trust the door and window lock/unlock status reported by the app for my car. The app frequently shows windows open or doors unlocked when that is not the case.

@Novemberwhisky ,

TL;DR; you're fine unless you plan to leave your car there for many weeks.

Even with the door open, as long as it's in Park, the car will time out and shut off HVAC and other systems. Keep this in mind if ever stuck on a highway behind some accident, if you put it in park, your car will shut off after 30 minutes IIRC. You can start it again, but it might surprise you.

The 12V is replenished from the 800v battery, but I have not seen any definitive answer how often and how long. The closest is this post by @800v which extrapolates from eTron GT (Taycan's close cousin) behavior from a while back Note that this behavior might have changed even for Audis as it's all just software, which manufacturers tweak from year to year, and/or via OTA.

Your 3% might not be just due to door being open, but possibly the shop is running heat in the car to dry the adhesive (especially if they did any film on the inside, like window tint).

Mine was having PPF applied for two weeks. Doors open most days, all days. I did the SoC drop a few percent over that time, but no issues at all. 12v battery will be automatically recharged from HV battery as needed (although I seem to remember there might ultimately be a maximum number of 12v recharges it will do before stopping).
