I have a 2020 Taycan Turbo that according to the dealer has a 2025 battery pack. I have the service invoice for replacing the battery. The part number is 9J1-915-100-EX, priced at $55294.18. The dash shows a 275 mile range estimate when the battery is full.
That part number appears in other forum posts, including this one:
My HV battery failed last year in my 2020 4 S with the larger battery. I noticed a loss of range in a short time period and brought it to the dealer. While troubleshooting was underway the battery failed. After about a month my car received a 2023 remanufactured HV battery with the part number 9J1-915-100-EX. No additional warranty, it continues with the 8 year warranty from purchase of the car.

Yeah, since they are supposedly not manufacturing the original battery pack anymore it is unclear what the deal really is with that part number. The price on the service invoice dwarfs what that part is listed for. The dealer was very excited to tell me that they'd gotten me the 2025 battery pack, and the 275 mile range at 100% reflects a newer pack but without a marking on the part number to indicate it supersedes the original one, I cannot be totally sure.

Mine was replaced in February 2025

For those of you that got a whole new pack, how many cells were bad? I had eight bad cells and they just replaced the bad cells ?

They did not tell me. I can tell from the service history that the car had modules replaced at least once before, then it threw a hard fault again and Porsche decided to replace the whole pack instead of fix it again.

Originally mine had 12 cell packs fail and they were all replaced. 14months later two more cell packs failed. Finally Porsche decided to replace the battery this time. Everything I am hearing is it will be a 2025 pack and it’s the first one my dealer is doing. Still waiting on the battery though.

It’s not only 2020 Turbo that fails… all 2020 models are.

Ive been saying it for a year and half that every single 2020 car is doomed to red circle of death. Most people including Porsche laughed it off as me being crazy.

We shall see ?

True, my 2020 4S with the performance Plus battery failed.

Sorry to say… this is a 9J1.1 battery.

275 miles (440 km) range is not uncommon for one of the old batteries in good condition.

The part number certainly points to that, and I know the real world range was around there, but I don’t recall the dash estimate of range ever showing numbers that high so I still wonder.

2021 and 2022 cars don’t have the same problem? Only 2020?

2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 there are some affected by ARB6 which end up in red circle of death too.. But the percentage seems to be much smaller.

In the case of 2020 is something that has similar symptoms to WRS1 (but many of the cars that fail do not show as affected by WRS1 in PCSS). So I assume it's something different to WRS1 not yet acknowledged by Porsche.

Anyway, based from what I've seen in my shop all 2020 cars fail sooner or later.
