Personally, I wouldn’t go for either car. CPO is the way to go for a pre-owned Taycan.
if its still under warranty you can buy a Porsche extended warranty for under $4k.

There is a difference between Porsche CPO vs buying a warranty. Porsche CPO ensures that the car is at a certain standard both based on its history and its condition at time of sale. A warranty is simply to fix what goes wrong later on.

It’s an important distinction for those that care about these kind of things. Admittedly, not everyone does.

Quick follow up: I took posters’ advice and narrowed my search to just CPO but expanded nationwide and found a perfectly optioned 22 4S CT across the country and made a purchase. Should be shipping out soon and hope to take delivery in a few weeks.

While a Turbo would be great, this well equipped 4S CT met our needs better, will be fun to drive, and kept me in budget.

Anyone who’s been around Porsche for a while knows that CPO is just an extended warranty worth, in Porsche’s own estimation, less than $3k. The idea that it’s an extensive inspection and repair process is nothing more than marketing drivel. CPO is 99% paperwork, and 1% inspection work. All sorts of stuff gets through the CPO process. Been discussed at length on the various Porsche forums.

That said, if a used car didn’t have at least two years of warranty left, I’d want some sort of extension, CPO or otherwise. The primary benefit of CPO is that you’re dealing directly with the warrantor, rather than a third party.
