2022 Taycan - Retrofitting Rear Cross Traffic Alert ?

My old SUVs RCA (rear cross traffic) alert has saved me countless of times from backing up into on coming traffic. I admit, I am not the most careful driver when backing up.

I recently purchased a used 2022 Taycan and realized it does not have this feature. Is there a way to retrofit, add this on ? There are some aftermarket kits but they look fugly

Almost anything is retrofittable, but Porsche is known to have huge price-tags for retrofits.

That makes sense. Rear Cross Traffic alert shoul just be a software upgrade with existing Cameras no?

I have surround camera and purchased the kufatec PCM upgrade to enable the 360 stiched view

Likely this feature requires rear corner radars and associated wiring harness. Does your car have Blind Spot Warning? If so, then maybe you already have those sensors and it just needs coding in by the dealer.

Dealership says this is something that cannot be retrofitted. Ah well, I will need to be SUPER careful when backing out

I did some research and found that it CAN be re-coded.

However it requires PIWIS 4 or PIWIS3 (Porsche Intelligent Workstation software) engineering version.

Has anyone done this before?

I have a heart attack everytime I try to back out in a tight space

PIWIS coding is done by aftermarket-people you need to meet in some parking lot, at least here in Germany.
