2024 update - real range and improvements

Folks,

Porsche have just bought back my MY21 turbo because it has so many faults it spent more time with them than me (not really but it went back about 6 times in 12 months).

So I am obviously not keen on buying another fault-ridden 1st Gen car.

My question is this: the big sell on Gen 2 is the range, with something like 380m advertised. The dealer, of course, says this is achievable.

Does anyone with a Gen 2 have real world range info? And do the other little tweaks make it worth it?

Manage what, a buy-back?

failed climate control (dashboard out)
Failed airbags
Failed reversing camera
Failed wipers they can’t solve
PCM updates
Recalls x2 - HVAC, brake lines
Suspension failure
6 tyres in a year (potholes, to be fair)
Charging socket only takes some cables not all - cannot use my wife’s cable, for example.

a couple of others that don’t come to mind right now.

So they bought it back… and it is now on their forecourt looking for the fifth owner in 3yrs.

There's a chart on here showing where they got the extra range from.

Most of it is a 10%+ bigger battery.

Work on that basis and you'll be fine

Your story sounds unreal given the number of failures, but I am glad you managed the buy back.
This is the official chart showing range improvements for the refresh. However, reliability is still not proven given how new the model with revised components is unless some owners of the refresh models can share if they run into anything major. Range/Efficiency seem to be the most welcome improvement.

I have a new J1.2, went from J1 4s to J1.2 turbo so not a direct comparison with the turbo being more powerful but I get c. 30% more range, half from the bigger battery, half from efficiency improvements. Makes a big difference for me as a daily driver covering over +20k miles per year. The faster DC charging is also a nice improvement for long trips.

I have charts for that too. The main improvement is charging at higher rates in lower temps.
