Key has a proximity sensor and so when near (within 2m) it will start flashing. If you have comfort access and the option enabled in the PCM the doors will unlock as you approach etc.

When you lock the car the key will flash quickly until door handles are retracted and then flash slowly whilst you are in close proximity. When outwith the range the key will stop flashing. Note that keeping keys near to the car for long periods will likely drain your 12V battery which is not a place you want to be,

This is normal behaviour on all Porsches and is well documented in the Porsche Good To Know App.

Ticking - not sure I've heard that one but there are generally all sorts of sounds. Pre-heat / pre-cool on unlock (option on PCM) may be part of it as are the active aero bits (which you can't control). I have air but have my pre-heat / pre-cool disabled on unlock and I don't hear ticking.
Your answer is helpful. The ticking sound is relate to the flashing. Once my key is not flashed it stops.

I've had the same Vodafone tracker as installed in the Taycan in 3 previous vehicles (not by choice) and the tracker box inside the car ticks when it is looking for the tracker fob. An ideal way to identify the (supposedly secret) location of the tracker to any would-be thieves!

The clicking would become worse/louder if there was no active subscription for the tracker unit and it was 'inactive' - somebody's attempt at marketing no doubt.

I haven't heard the Taycan's 'click' but could be related..
