Exhaust sound from a Taycan?

I’ve never understood that. I feel like wearing that kind of stuff makes you look like you either work there or can’t afford their cars (so bought apparel instead).

I love Porsche…but you won’t catch me in any hat, shirt, jacket, watch, bag, etc…

I get your point, but this is no different than purchasing F1 apparel. I think there is Porsche racing apparel that I actually own some pieces of, as a fan of the racing team, but then there is lifestyle wear with the Porsche brand that I also would not wear.
My only point, is I view it as a difference from fan-wear vs. lifestyle/brand wear.

It's funny. In twenty years, I've never seen a single customer buying any of the overpriced Porsche jackets, watches, etc. here at the San Diego dealership.

But if you head north to South Coast mall in Costa Mesa, there are plenty of people milling about in the Porsche store wanting to buy this stuff. I don't think Porsche owners are really into the logo'd gadgets and apparel at all. But there's another demographic that is -- just can't quite wrap my head around who they are.

Those are the wannabe owners.

Hmmm...you might be on to something there. I must admit that it's such a plausible thing for Porsche to do that I hadn't looked too closely at the pictures. I still wouldn't be surprised if Porsche announces the Porsche Acoustic Reproduction Pipe (PARP).
Anyway, I think that most of my comments in this thread apply equally to the very real Porsche Electronic Sport Sound. This old man might just have been yelling at the wrong cloud.

This is a real thing.....the exhaust is just there for decoration and the soundbar is a high-quality 2-channel speaker. Similar to the piston that is a charger. It has asthetic appeal as a car-part, but functional aspects of it as a charger.
The exhaust soundbar is meant for home audio listening with the decoration of a car motif. It is not a soundbar that goes in your car as an electronic exhaust sound.

Another point of reference, I've been driving Tesla Model S since 2013, still enjoy the silence, looking forward to Taycan having even less noise than any of the 4 Model S's I've had so far.

I will say that other than the difference in sound isolation materials, the motor whirr of the Taycan is actually louder than my Model S was (even with sport sound off).
