Confirm the battery is at least 80% charged and check both charging ports. Ask for a demo of the charging flap operation and verify included cables (Mobile Charger Connect, 110V/240V adapters).

Check for scratches, swirl marks, or misaligned panels under bright light. Run your hand along edges for imperfections.

Use a notepad or app to track inspections, as excitement can make you miss details.

First of all, congrats !

My advice would be to avoid getting swooned into the instagramability of the now unavoidable cloth pull, and have a checklist of things you want to get through while in the delivery bay:
- appreciate the moment before getting to the serious bits: it is your new car !
- i take the time of going around the car as if i was washing it mentally by hand, you do not want to have a bad surprise later. Fortunately, you did not buy a Tesla, you do not have to QC the car for chronic quality escapes. But things can happen in a dealership.
- same for the interior condition, seat by seat
- the advisor will probably take you through the list of all equipments in your config to have you acknowledge that they are there. Pay attention to what's supposed to be in the frunk and trunk
- have your phone with the My Porsche app installed, account setup etc ... if you do not have the car already visible there
- pay attention to the explanations when the advisor takes you through PCM menus & functions. Not a bad idea to record a video otherwise you might wonder later "how did they get to that menu ?"
- be focused as you drive off, the Taycan has a large footprint

By now the dealership know how to prepare a.Taycan for delivery and the many early issues of the J1.1 won't be present.

Check you can log in with your Porsche ID and check you have a green sos led in the top panel.

Enjoy!

For delivery: do not accept delivery and drive your Taycan off the lot until you can successfully remote into the car from your phone using the MyPorsche app. (If they tell you to wait 24 hours until your Porsche ID is activated in the car, tell them you will be back to take delivery in 24 hours.)

After delivery:
helpful set up and operate videos:

Your just down the road from me. Which OPC are you collecting it from?

As others have said, a close visual inspection, inside and out including wheels. Login to PCM with your Porsche Account, you can set one up in advance by downloading the My Porsche App. Check remote access via App works, Login to Spotify/Apple Music etc. Assuming it is a J1.2 you will only get a type 2 charging lead.
Get them to demo the PCM etc

Enjoy!
