Hi
I have been researching the Taycan as well as the 4S and found both good and bad reviews. What do you owners think ?
My perfect car would be a Sport Turismo in Carmine red, Bose, Pano roof with black roof rails, chrono for drive select and 20" alloys. Tyres in the UK are stupidly expensive with the 21" tyres costing £360 to about £250 a corner depending on manufacturer.
Are these options worth it ?
DC 150kw charger
Park Assist
Air ride
Leather interior
Any you think I should have ?

Any help would be really appreciated.
Driving a Cupra Born V2 58kw which is getting about 200 to 235 mile range.

Good morning! Love the desired color. Check to see when the panoramic roof with variable shade was first available on the Taycan if that is what you mean.
I am picking up a 2022 acid green (PTS) GTS on Monday. I managed to convince my Porsche dealer to lease the car for two years. The sales manager/sales people I dealt with have all honestly hinted they would not buy a used Taycan at this time due to the major technology/range upgrades which are coming out in the 2025 model year. That is of course, unless it’s a great deal! Be interesting to see what others think.

The depreciation of luxury EV’s has been significant. This car is 40% off MSRP with 10,000 miles on the odometer. My plan is to see if I can function with an EV for a couple of years. I live in a very cold part of the USA in Minnesota, but my driving habits are mostly trips of less than a 100 miles at a time. I do have a home 220 charger as well, which is a must here with very poor charging infrastructure. If all goes well, will look at newer models in a couple of years. Hope this helps.

Used or new?
Edit: just re-read title.

The cars are really great to drive (probably the best ev to drive), but there have been some well documented reliability issues.

If used, make sure you are aware of the extra costs for things like extended warranty and connected drive compared to other manufacturers.

Also make sure you get an insurance quote prior to purchase. UK Taycans can be pricey cars to own.

FWIW, I have a 2021 Taycan RWD with 25k miles on it. It has been a reliable fun car to drive. It also has been part of more recalls than the last 10 cars I have owned combined. If you don't live extraordinarily close to a dealer, I would think long and hard about a Taycan (new or preowned).

Hey there.

Essential:
Panofamic roof
Adaptive Cruise (with Active Lane Keep but you can add that later)
4+1 seats
Performance Plus

Useful:
Folding Mirrors
Seat Heat
Surround View
Dimming Interior and Exterior Mirrors
Heads Up Display
LED Matrix
BOSE
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport

Fun to have:
Ambient Lights
Electric charging covers
Sport Chrono
Passenger Display

After driving the car for 5000+ miles, I would move PDCC, Dimming Mirrors and HUD to the absolutely essential for my next one.

Hope this helps.

Personally would say must have options are:

Panoramic roof
PDLS +
4+1
Minimum 20 inch wheels
Surround view parking
Blind spot monitor
Electric mirror folding
Air suspension ( standard on 4s)
Big battery

Nice to haves:

Sport chrono
Electric sport sound
21 inch wheels
Crayon leather interior
PSCB
Passenger display
Adaptive cruise
Don't recommend:

Variable light control sunroof
Carbon ceramics (unless you go for taycan turbo or higher)
Burmester
Innodrive

I love the Burmeister! It’s a must for me (had a loaner with a Bose for a couple weeks and really missed the sound quality)

The only key option on your list is the air suspension. The springs aren’t bad but the extra comfort and height adjustability are important for using a Taycan daily on most roads that are anything but perfect.

On UK roads I would say the two must haves are surround view parking -it's a big old car, with very limited rear visibility.

And air suspension, as lift function may be required at times (ramps / bumps / rural driving).

Also make sure it's got the big (93kwh) battery.

But look at warranty and insurance first though......
You don't want to be running a Taycan without a Porsche warranty and many insurers have exited the market or rocketed premiums.

The Taycan is a cheap car to run. But not to own.
Those tyre prices don't even get mentioned on here really.

From a drive perspective, I am glad I have 4 wheel steer for tight manoeuvres, it is a large car, this makes it shrink. Perf plus probably does too.

I'm v happy with Perf Plus, Air ride and Sport Chrono - but I've not driven a car without them.

However, each time I have driven the courtesy car from the main dealer I wish I had specced PDCC - the way it levels up the car around corners is frustratingly(!) good fun. It reminds me of my old Elise (763kg) which seems mad. I had read a negative review (Evo I think) which made me save rather than tick this option.

Love the panoramic roof and v happy with Bose. Again, not tried a car without though. Sport Sound is fun.

Personally, I think it is daft Porsche would sell a car without auto folding mirrors or memory seats. These should be standard at this level.

I'm also relieved the rear view camera was made standard while my car was on order - visibility is terrible. Which I really notice when the camera is dirty (every day in bad weather if I forget to wipe it).

Ultimately they are lovely cars, and a joy to own, so compromising on some options is fine. I can deal without the PDCC.
