It may be that the EA stations I go to in OC are always full with a wait so I just assume that’s why I never get above 200kwh with my Taycan. The Mercedes EOS from Avis did charge above 200KwH in Dallas.
I’ve never seen any charge rate above 200KwH but was hoping to see at least 250-300 KwH when charging after midnight but never had any luck. Maybe it’s my 2021 charging system but if I start a 30%, 20% or even 5% with the battery temp at 95-97F or in the 80s the charging rate never gets above 200.
Unplugging after 30 minutes to get the last 10% in only works between 2am & 5am where there are a million EVs either free charging at EA in Newport Beach so it may just be my area.

interesting thoughts here - on my way back from the Bay Area to LA : the Taycan Turbo S CT pulled 258 - 260 KW consistently. I also used the PCCM trip manager, to condition the battery for ample charging.

I’ll have to try using the trip manager more often to see if that helps…

OP, I'm trying to get my head around the Audi's great interior design having bad ergonomics. Can you provide any examples? Is the Audi's interior aesthetically appealing but not useful in the real world?

love this question - Design is Subjective - I am a trained architect with a Digital Experience career. Please bear ? with me! ?

For me, there are beautiful geometrical surfaces on doors, and the dash that I found very appealing. The use of material particularly to contrast - standard without CXx - is just cool… alcantara on the doors, satin aluminum on door handles… the car is very premium and feels ICE - not a tech car.

however - none of it worked for me, window buttons far, not within reach…. The screen is far, small… I found the software to not be that intuitive… it just didn’t function for my taste and liking as smooth and seamless as the porsche Taycan experience was. The cabin feels large but awkward. … hope this helps.

Almost certain your experience is bc of load sharing at full stations with the older cabinets. Try charging at an vacant station and you'll see 270kw with a 200kw average. The newest EA station don't load share and is blazing fast.

Makes total sense! I’m considering an S7 or some variation of a Q8 as a second car, but haven’t spent any time in either yet. Appreciate the feedback.

best advice : find one on Turo and rent for 2-3 weeks to see if you like.

Thanks, that you took time comparing in extend.
I went somewhat the same way as you did from various Teslas S/X/Y since 2015.
I sold my 993S with Cargraphic cats 2017 already though, because I wouldn't drive it anymore.
No time for fun-trips and just too noisy and slow for daily use ?.

Craving to go for a 992.2 911T manual now, to get back to the "old feeling", which it transports quite well.

The Audi did not and does not appeal to me, but I love my Turbo S CT as daily as well.
I chose comfort-seats from the beginning, as the side bolsters on the sport-seats would irritate me (and I love the massage option).

Thanks, I’ll try that. All the EAs I’ve been going to are at least 4 years old or older so finding a new installation is good for me to try. Thanks.

I did the opposite as the OP and went from a new 2023 RS etron GT to a new 2024 Taycan CT 4S, and I share many of the same observations. However, my base lease payments were about the same for both (and crazy low): Audi $664/mo and Porsche $717/mo. With that said, I’d probably would still pick the Taycan, but I’m very much interested in the update RS etron GT performance and hoping for similar killer deals by the end of summer/early fall!

how long were your leases & how many miles did they include? Those are great deals. I purchased mine so my payment is much higher. I just fell in love with the coffee beige color and decided I would never let her go…
Maybe my next Porsche will be a lease.

A huge win for the updated E-Tron GT is the MF and residual on the lease compared to the Taycan. The APR is 1.2% compared to 8.5% of the Taycan.
I don't think the wild lease deals are coming on the new E-Tron GT because they won't be building as many of them anymore.

It makes zero sense that the E-Tron charges quicker than the Taycan unless the ET is a refresh and your Taycan isn't.
He said it charged more reliably.
