So with carplay we have access to more colors? My list in j1 pcm is really short and filled with basic colors. The carplay screenshot offers the full range of colors, or does it fallback on the default colors after selection?

Just checked this morning: In CarPlay you only get the usual 7 or 8 predefined colors in J1 pre facelift.
The unlimited choice is only available on J1.II

If you can get your service guy to update your ECU / module that controls this, you will get same options as the taycan facelift for colors.

It's a bit shocking that soon to be 5 year old car has no community for these kinds of updates; when comparing to tesla which has so many things: 3rd party buttons, screens, cameras, etc.
