Are my ventilated seats not functioning properly or are they just really bad?

Yes, they don't really "cool you down".
But entering in a t-shirt feeling hot, it has a significant effect on me.
In my Model X there were loud annoying ventilators without any noticeable effect after 10 seconds.

@chun had a good idea though, getting the perforation cleaned.

Agreed - I was thinking the same: the cooled seats use a fan to pull in cabin air and blow it at your butt/back.

@drtckramer: try dropping the a/c temp to see if that makes a difference.

So you aren’t crazy the seats are working as designed. Part of the issue is the industry isn’t consistent on naming the feature. Some brands will call “a/c” seats “ventilated” seats which confuses everyone when owning/testing different brands.

Porsche has always had ventilated seats which pull the warm air away from you. An a/c seat actually has a refrigerant element that cools the seat down vs similar to how there is a heater element to warm the seats.

The ventilated truly refers to the seat design and how the fabric has the holes aka vents in them so to speak.

Thanks for the answer! I guess I should’ve done a bit more research. But luckily this wasn’t a make or break feature, just an added bonus on the available car. Though I’ll always be thinking about the a/c cooled seats I’ve used every time I turn these on ?

no worries l! I actually forgot about it when shopping for my Taycan. Tbh a good ceramic film keeps the heat out so you can enjoy the seats more. I only cared to ensure I have them because I want every option ??

They are bad you can never really feel them. However that is in all of Porsches cars they are all the same.

Normally don’t even need it on setting 3, 2 seems to suffice…

Me too! There are many times when the ventilated seats automatically turn on and I end up turning them off. Not sure if Racetex is the 'key', but I am more than satisfied with the ventilated seats and their very sufficient cooling. And................we live in Texas!

Worked well enough for me the few times I used them.
Then again, perhaps that’s because I only used them on really warm days when the air on was on max.
The fan was a little noisy though.

I actually use the massage function more than the ventilation in mine but do find the ventilation pleasant when I need it.

Don’t have massage seats didn’t want to wait for a car with that spec and my price point to hit the lots

It is a rare option but would be a must have for me now!

In fact when I searched used cars for options which must have and not having options I hate there still aren't any Taycans for sale in the UK I would buy.
