There’s this tidbit floating about the inter webs that adding the ventilation option might make a particular seat type firmer than without. There’s no real information to any of that though, it’s always something akin to “I heard somewhere that the ventilated seats are tougher/firmer”.

Has anyone had enough experience with ventilation (equiped/not-equipped) across the same seat type (either both 14 or both 18 way seats) and can state that there was actually a perceptible difference between having or not having the seat ventilation option? I think it’s up to the individual to evaluate whether any difference is positive or negative, but I think it would be helpful to know if this is a real issue that requires making sure to demo the seat comfort with and without if thinking of spec’ ing the ventilation option.

The Taycans at the dealer are quite a mix, so seat ventilation yet another thing to cross compare among others.

18 way seats are firm, comfortable and narrow. Have not done a detailed 14 way comp.

@bluesky , you should be able to visit a dealer with new and used Taycans on the lot to compare. While when I was buying mine, I had to wait 8 months before even being able to sit in a Taycan with 18 way seats, and 10 months before being able to see my first Taycan CT, nowadays the big dealers seem to have plenty of Taycans to choose from on their lots. I have ventilated 18-way seats, love them, they hold me during spirited driving and cool me on warm and hot days. If that helps you, I found myself using the ventilated seats even when driving in the winter on longer trips.

Yeah I have ventilated seats on my current car, I’m just interested in whether there’s any truth to the claim that in the Taycan they are “tougher” with than without. I’d get them right off unless they indeed are harder, in which case I might want to skip it then.
