5 min charging is great, but remember, power in = power out, so if a car can be charged to 100% today with 250A 800V, it will need 10 times that to do twice as big is 5 minutes.

Assuming 80kWh put into the battery over 5 mins means a 1MW charger. Not impossible - truck ones are bigger: up to 4 MW - but that cable will be a beast to manoeuvre.

Wake me up when a reputable OEM is communicating on running validation tests. And/or has pitched in a substantive round. Because CAPEX requirements will be massive.

Till then, the startup which everyone is ignoring except other 3rd tier startups is .. just that.

And yes, if it ever works, delivering that kind of power will cause certain infrastructure "challenges".

The problem with hype like this is that it puts people off from buying cars that exist in the here and now. They are one reason 2nd hand prices for Taycans are so depressed.
