I’ve had my Taycan for a year but some of the quirks are starting to be an issue. Many I’ve seen on here like the satellite navigation continually resetting to the regular map or not showing as available. Also on occasion the sound system will show volume as -1 and it can’t be adjusted or parking assist not being available. My Taycan was part of the recall and I started getting the message Electrical System Error Park Vehicle in a Safe Place. Took it to the dealer and after a few weeks got it back with the recall complete. Next day same message. Dealer is working with Porsche NA to fix the issue but no luck. They think it needs a battery repair whatever that means. Meanwhile I haven’t had the car for 7 weeks. Anyone else have this type of experience?

There are multiple threads here on the 12V battery issues. Have you searched?

some yes - most no - looks like your car will need warranty work - it’s a bummer but it’s also what warranties are for.

The problem is exaggerated by the inability of the service departments to diagnose some problems so multiple visits are required and the lack of parts which require the car to stay at the dealer for weeks.

I used to say this about tesla service centers and it is applicable to porsche ones as well, all service centers are not equal in expertise. some dealerships have better trained techs, more familiarity with the car and a better approach to customer service, another cliche, your mileage might vary.


another issue that I've encountered with porsche service is that the dealerships are beholden to the mothership when they encounter "odd ball" issues like my charging issue.
the mothership will not authorize any repairs unless it is documented by replication.
the only way the charging fix happened was because another user here was able to get porsche to send engineers out and they were able to replicate the problem, at my dealership I had a tech come out to a charger but we could not replicate the problem so no fix was going to be forthcoming.

Just heard that Porsche NA is sending a field tech out on October 20th to look at it. That’s 3 months without the car. I’m starting to wonder if Porsche knows how to fix their own cars.

Just heard that Porsche NA is sending a field tech out on October 20th to look at it. That’s 3 months without the car. I’m starting to wonder if Porsche knows how to fix their own cars.
Depends on the dealer and how many techs they have certified/trained on Taycan. My RWD has been down for 8 weeks. Initially towed to Porsche with a dead 12V. Had them look into a motor/trans noise and replacement drive unit arrived last week. My dealer is not the problem in this case - getting parts was. (freight shipment delays)
