My Taycan went in for 20k service. Battery range was at 279 miles at 100% charge. I picked up the car with 159 miles left. Now at 100% the range is only 207 miles. Has anyone had this issue?

I noticed recently mine is lower, I assumed it was all cold weather related.

They probably had it turned on while doing their work (lots of electricity used for nearly zero miles) and the guess-o-meter got a little out of whack. I bet it's back to normal-ish within a few weeks. Your range is almost certainly not actually changing.

My range dropped sharply after the big software update. Did they do that at same time for you?

Supposedly it was because the history was reset, but my range (actual) does seem diminished permanently as well as the guess-o-meter never getting back to it's earlier indication either.

Check your miles/kwh in the trip data in the app as well. That is the better way to see if your actual range has diminished.

Same occurred for me - had the 2 year service a little more than a week ago and range has diminished, but I am guessing that it will come back as I drive the car more. Same thing happened when I took the car in for the 'big' update. Range came back after a few weeks of driving.

With only 530 miles and a late December '22 delivery I have a way to go, but curious about what service is done at the 2 years. I've no doubt it is crazy expensive as Porsche service normally is as Ive learned over the past 7 years.

The service requirement occurs at first of 2 years or 20,000 miles. I am shy of the 20,000 miles so it was 2 years for me. Brake fluid change, wiper change, cabin air filter change and just overall safety mechanical check. Some have reported upwards of $1,000..........mine was just above $600. I doubt that I will get it done again in 2 years as car will be out of warranty period. I questioned the brake fluid change and service rep reported that Porsche recommends fluid change every two years. I cannot imagine why as most of the braking is completed by regen versus actual brakes unless you are hitting them really hard. I do, but even still no way does the fluid get hot enough to deteriorate. Different though if I was hitting the track hard and regularly. In my younger life I completed 15-18 Drivers Education events per year and changed the fluid before each event. Never had a problem with fad, etc., but that is a far far cry from normal aggressive street braking.

They probably let your car "idle" which drove up the consumption rate and thus affected the guess-o-meter calculation. Same concept if you just turn on a prius and idle it, it gets 0mpg and you'd show basically no range either.

I "lost" 30% of reported range after last year's major software update (uPdate) but recovered a few weeks after.

Throughout the period my consumption over reasonable distances remained the same at 3.3 mi/kWh which is my go to reliable measure of actual possible range (259 miles).

Software relearned over time. Don't recall any change after 20k service but it depends on what work and updates that were performed. If you didn't have coloured PCM icons before your service and did afterwards then uPdate has been applied and therefore explains the perceived drop in estimated range.

Brake fluid replacement has nothing to do with the use of the braking. This is only time based due to moisture building in the hydraulic lines. For example, my 2008 Acura TSX has a 3 year brake fluid replacement interval, so I assume these intervals differ but for the dealership this is a recurring business profit maker since regardless of if you are driving it or not, they will flag you for this service. Now, they are proactively replacing keyfob batteries without me asking at $15 and so on, plus mandatory shop supplies at $35-$45 per visit.

I realized the regenerative braking stopped working after the service.
I assume that brake fluid change let the car use physical brake more, maybe it is the reason why the range comes back after a few weeks?

Brakes need to relearn after this service and then recuperation will return.
