In fairness this is the first issue in 4 months of using it. Two earlier issues caused by loss of LTE connectivity

So, car back at dealer to look at LTE issue. Not sure if they will do anything as only lost once for 2 days a few weeks back then been fine since.

On a side note. Been given a cayenne hybrid. Says it does 100 miles on battery power so would like to charge at home. Would it work me logging into the cayenne with my Porsche account and then then get me discounted rate at home or is my Porsche log in only for my Taycan.

Any ideas on a work around to charge the cayenne at home on charge anytime cheap rate?

Edit- 100% is 28 miles at 100% so not quite the 100 mile rage I thought but still worth a go!

Interesting! Give it a go. If it works then I could Charge a friend's Taycan at the cheap rate when he visits

After 4 months with OVO it seems I have to raise an issue; while they have recorded £188 worth of credits for my Charge Anytime tariff, they have not applied it to my account...

They appear to do an end of month calculation, Charging credit (£) = (Home rate - EV rate) x electricity used to smart charge EV. So basically 20p per KWh used is then raised as a credit for subsequent months bill.

Except it isn't. Hasn't been credited once.

After a slightly frustrating call to OVO (nowhere near as helpful as Octopus!) they claim they won't credit anything because the account is in debit.

Of course the reason it's not in credit is because they haven't applied the charging credits but apparently that doesn't compute from their side.

No doubt it will be resolved, but I do recommend other OVO users have a review of their accounts and make sure they are receiving the perceived benefits that we signed up for.

Hi, has it taken you 4 months to resolve or didn’t you notice for 4 months? Might be just me, but I was all over the charging credits from day 1 just to check all was good and checking the bill monthly. Earlier in this thread I raised I was being charged slightly more than 10p due to what I believed was a vat issue, so raised a query through email and it took a couple of weeks but it has been sorted. Got the credit back and a £10 goodwill added to bill. It was only an issue on my first bill but they were adding vat to all units used but then taking ex vat off my bill. Since then it’s been fine. I do agree though phone support is poor, and I’ve found waiting longer and raising query through the email address detailed on charge anytime app is easier. As I say took a couple of weeks to resolve but they did email me weekly saying they were working in it. I’d say the current advise you have is poor and either escalate or try the email. It should deduct monthly, and just be a credited regardless.

I wasn't studying it, so took 4 months for me to realise. I'm sure they will fix it but just wanted to raise awareness in case others were also missing out.

I am discovering that the disadvantage with OVO Charge Anytime is its dependency on connection of the app with the car. I have previously suffered from loss of LTE which is a common problem as discussed on other threads on this platform. My car went into my local dealer for remedial work on this problem ( which in the meantime had corrected itself after several days of loss ) however the problem has returned and I find myself changing the car again with full price electricity.

They didn’t say, but they had it for the day. I must say I didn’t have much confidence in the problem being permanently fixed and my misgivings have proved to be justified. This being such a common problem I am amazed that no plan for definitive remedial action seems to be in place because no one I speak to seems to on top of what needs to be done or at least they won’t discuss it with me. Meanwhile they want me to book the car in again. It would be interesting to know what triggers the loss of LTE.

You would be better on Octopus. You can use the overnight rate then

My Octopus Go is due for renewal on 13th Aug.

I just did the number crunching and renewing on Octopus Go (no longer offered as a fixed term) works best for me. I hardly ever need more than the 4 hour charging period.

Even compared to switching to OVO - which I don't want to do, as had bad experience with them previously and only good with Octopus. Go was still cheaper.

Try Octopus. The tariff is higher in the day though, but the intelligent octopus gives you 6 hours cheap overnight and intelligent charging at 7.5p.
If you want a referral code to give us both £50 et me know!
Hi,

have been considering octopus for a while now. My CT4s is currently waiting to be shipped over! Needing to sort Home charging. If both parties can benefit from a code, I would be interested! Thanks.
