BOSE Delays

Dealer reached out to me to state that they had to remove the BOSE sound system from my build (past freeze point date). Anyone have any info about how long delays might be for?

News side-swept me since I care about audio quality and was looking forward to it.

If I went from Bose to base I'd just not accept the car. Only some much compromise you can do before it's not the car you want.

Is this for a 23 model? Bose is the lowest option on MY23s, would they really revert back to the base? I just ordered one so now im wondering if they’ll say the same to me

Yeah, MY23 CT4 that was set to be built in October/November. Surprised me too since my freeze date got adjusted multiple times.

I asked if the order could be delayed, but if there is no foreseeable alternative, that might make me second guess

Have you asked your dealer to try adding premium package (which includes bose) instead? I‘m wondering if Porsche is currently prioritizing the Bose units for premium package builds over standalone Bose option builds, until parts supply catches up.

I ordered the Premium Package which had the Bose package included, sadly. Seems like they're forced to remove the Bose option and downgrade only the sound system to the standard one, while keeping all the other Premium Package options.

I'll update this thread if my dealer lets me know anything new.

you accepted the change? I wouldn’t. If they told me they had removed it without my consent I would refuse the car unless they could retrofit it perfectly afterwards at no cost.

Having driven a demo for the weekend that had the standard stereo there is no way I would accept the car without Bose. My 2021 Cayenne Coupe has Bose and my family genuinely laughed at the quality of the standard stereo.

I am still yet to get an allocation for my GTS Saloon, but if they try pulling Bose from my car I will be walking away and buying something else

When I finalised my spec in April There were 2 items in my dealer told me were on their list for long delays, one was Bose, the other Racetex B-pillar trim. I dropped both but still got massive delays.
They had removed matrix lights earlier as no longer available on CT 4S but didn't put them back on when they were available again.
I don't listen to music much in the car so the audio wasn't a big deal, I was disappointed by the lack of B-pillar Racetex, since it is almost an arm rest, I'll probably get the local trim guy to do something with it.
The loss of matrix lights made me look into a ST GTS instead but I didn't like other parts of the GTS spec for my use, so didn't bother.

I thought production was about to start when they asked me to fix it but still had a long delay anyway and still have no delivery date for the car, though it was finished on 31/7/22.

If it was a deal-breaker I'd be very cautious of accepting the car with a promise of a later refit - given the history of the electric steering column. Where Porsche told people they'd refit it – and then later said they would not – after car's were accepted.

So you can’t get Bose or Burmsester now? Or is the Burmester back now? The standard stereo is terrible.
