Hi everyone,

Both electric charging flaps on my 2020 Taycan suddenly stopped working today.

Whether I use the swipe/touch function on the outside of the charging flap or try to open them via the center console controls, both flaps remain completely closed. After a few seconds, the following message appears in the instrument cluster:

“Charging flaps impaired. Check charging flap.”

Luckily, I was able to charge the car using the emergency release, so I can still drive it for now.

What’s interesting is that this warning has actually appeared occasionally while driving in the past. However, it always disappeared again after a while, and the charging flaps subsequently worked normally.

I also scanned the Taycan with my diagnostic tester earlier. At the moment, I can only find one fault code in the high-voltage charger: U103000. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find much useful information about it through Google either.

So my question to the community:

Has anyone experienced exactly this problem before, or is anyone familiar with fault code U103000 in connection with the charging flaps?

Could there be a known issue with a control unit, wiring, sensor, or the flap actuators?

I’d like to narrow the problem down myself before taking the car straight to the Porsche Center. I’m quite comfortable doing my own repairs and would really appreciate any advice on what I could check with my diagnostic tester or where it would make sense to start troubleshooting.

Maybe someone has had the same issue and can point me in the right direction. 😊

Thanks in advance!

Wow,

Thomas being able to state that the problem exists somewhere between control unit and actuators and Tooney having all this Bulletins.

Makes me wonder if I should be owning this car at all.

Tooney where do you get these bulletins? Special access? When I type in https://static.nhtsa.gov/ I get gobblidy gook.
