Hi all -

I'm new to Porsche, dropping my Tesla X for a CT Turbo S if I can. I've read a lot of threads and I now have a general understanding of allocations, etc. I've placed a refundable deposit w my local dealer, and am waiting for an allocation, but they don't expect that for a few months at least, and then months for build/ship, it looks like a long wait.

So, I'm considering alternatives and would like some advice. I think my optio a are:

1) wait for my dealer to get an allocation. They have 4 CTs allocated already, with start dates from now through April. So I can wait for a call from them.

2) find a dealer who has an allocation (not sure if that's possible or easy) and have them ship it to me.

3) keep watching Finder.porsche.com for a build close to what I want. There are two CT Turbo Ss on that now but I don't love the build/options). Neither are in the US yet, but I assume they're in transit.

Are these the only 3 options? Any advice on which to pursue. I guess these are scarce right now.

Thanks for any help!

It depends on how much you want one now (how much work you want to put in), how much you're willing to compromise on color/options and the price you're willing to pay.

I personally would call dealers across the country and have them do a PECLA delivery so I can pick it up from there.

I think I've only seen one turbo s cross turismo physically in the states and that was with a dealer in Chicago. You've spotted two in transit. This speaks so the scarcity of them and thus the probability of a match and you've already said you don't like the options. If there's no flex here, then it's already out of the question.

Comes down to, do you want to make the phone calls. If not, then wait.

What TaycanCook said. Search all US dealers or call and get one that's got an immediate allocation, so less populated sub urban area with no much demand will probably have 1 or 2 with no customers (just guessing, as others might be doing the same, so you might have competitors searching for one too). Then do a PECLA delivery. This way, it might be just an extra week from dealer to LA, then pick it up there and drive home. Will be a nice road trip back to SF.

I didn't realized I can do this when I was ordering mine in March this year, otherwise I would have done the same. 9-months on the forum, you learn a thing or 2.
