can I skip Apple Car Play?

I'm getting my Taycan on Tuesday. I do not want Car Play operating in my car - I don't want it interfering with using XM (as others have reported) and I don't want it popping up asking to connect anytime I get in the car with my iPhone.

Is the only way for Car Play to operate that I actually enable it during initial setup? Or will I have to deal with the car asking me if I want to use it every time I get in the car with my phone?

There's a switch on the iPhone, just turn it off there and the phone will attach as normal bluetooth.

That's doing it on a content-restriction level, like parental controls to disallow specific features.

Just do this:

Settings, General, Carplay, tap your car, turn off the carplay switch.

If you don't want to use CarPlay at all, then you have no problems, since you do have to give your car permission to use the function. Just don't grant it and you won't have any issues.
