So I’m not new to polishing paint but I’ve always hand polished. Well now with sand and salt and this and that and this car being a daily I want to rejuvenate the paint and get the micro scratches out.

For those of you who machine polish…. What’s your go to polish, tool, procedure, etc etc etc.

Help a guy out!

For a machine polishing newbie which you say you are, the CRITICAL three things for polishing are:

Start with the least amount of pressure, the least aggressive polishing compound, and a soft polishing pad designed for those two prior things.

You can always first up the pressure slightly, go next to a slightly more aggressive (still mild) polishing compound, then go to a more aggressive pad, but if one starts in reverse on any of those three things and then thus quickly cuts through the clear coat, your car is f’ed.

Slow, gentle and progressive are your three best friends.

P.S.: Just as refazi noted, watch a ton of YT videos before you buy or do anything.
