Hello,

Does someone know how one of the inner Ultrasonic Distance sensors can be changed? Unfortunately mine got an Rockfall and is broken.

It seemed that it can be accessed without removing the Front Bumper.

Front bumper definitely needs to come off. Which involves, both front wheels, wheel arch liners and both headlights being removed, along with all of the trim surrounding the frunk compartment under the bonnet/hood.

Albeit believing you Iam reluctant to and furious to pay several thousend dollar to replace a 40 Dollar sensor in a Brand new Car. Also in 20 years i never had a Stone fall in a Parkingsensor.

The sensor is visible from the Front and one can also see the clips holding the Sensor.
Can someone tell how the Plug is released from the Sensor? I assume you have to manipulate the Grey latch, but i dont know in what direction.

Issue is you might be able to change it yourself but you'll almost certainly need a trip back to the dealer for Re-calibration. That's not gonna be cheap

Well actually it was really easy to remove it. You just need to pri down the 2 nose holders which holds the sensor. Then push really hard. Its necessary to find pictures how the parts look like where its mounted.

Funny thing is that even in the Porsche parts katalogue is the wrong part number of the sensor, its an angled one there.

Anyway i ordered it for 50 bucks.

Even if i have porsche calibrate it, its much cheaper then let them remove the bumper.

It worked flawless but apparently the Rockfall was not a problem since the problem is the same es before.

So i guess its the Licenseplate holder for some reason.

Interested to read this, as I've got a sensor go faulty myself (same sensor in the other side of the bumper). It looks like there is a stonechip on it which I think is causing the problems.

I could take the car into Porsche but it's nearly an hour away, they want to keep it a few days and can't do it for weeks, so I've just ordered this £10 sensor which looks to be the same:

Might pop the broken one back in for the next time the car is in for a service/something else broken, then I'll have a spare.

Do you have any more pics to show how you removed the old one?
