Charging at Home error

It is hard wired to a breaker located in the junction box, the Ohme Home Pro has the option of 5m or 8m tethered cable. So no option to use another charging device unless you get an electrical to remove the Ohme and install a commando socket which means you just removed a £1k Ohme install.

Yeah was suspecting that might be the case hence suggestion to pursue the original approach.

It’s because the Ohme app isn’t yet fully connectable with the Taycan. Mine does the same but as soon as the time reaches the window it starts to charge as normal.

Bumping an old thread - but is this ok when it happens? Same happening to me with ohme. I would prefer to use Octopus schedule but something has changed between the unit and octopus and the ohme kept failing.

They talked me through controlling via their app. Now to be fair other than crap app (no in app way of seeing charging schedule, just see it on initial notification if you extend it) and the red errors on the car - it does work and gets it to %. But red errors worry me.

It works fine yes just a bit annoying.
I'm not sure if there is an easier way but this is what I do and its worked fine for 10 months now.

1. Set the 'timer' in the charging section of the Porsche app to whatever time in the morning you like and what % you want (My standard is 85% by 7.30am). I have a 100% setting as well if I'm doing a long journey.
2. Set the 'charging schedules' on the Ohme App to add 200 miles by the same time ( So I have it set to charge 200 miles by 7.30am - this number is irrelevant, it just needs to be more than you need otherwise I think the Ohme app stops the charge once 200 miles have been added),
3. Plug it in.

The charger will then switch itself on and off until 7.30am to get to the correct charge you've set, it will pause. error, tell you it wont make it etc etc but I just ignore those messages and it always charges to where I set it. The charge rate also changes between 7kwh and 3.5kwh which I assume it just Ohme maximising efficiency.

But my god it's cheap and you get the cheap rate at any time of day - AS LONG AS YOU SET THE SCHEDULE!!! Don't just plug it in or you will be charged your full electricity rate. You only get the cheap rate if you are using a schedule but luckily they are easy to add.
EG you can set the schedule at any time of the day. So in a morning you could set a schedule to charge to 85% by 7pm and THEN plug it in, and it charges the car by 7pm on the low rate.

Only other thing to remember is that you cant change the schedule whilst its plugged in - it only recognises the changed schedule if the car is unplugged. So change the schedule and then plug the car in.

Thanks - will carry on as is then. Also got my latest Octopus bill yesterday and noticed the increased charge time @ 7.5p rate, so all seems good!

Also seems a bit too good to be true but I'll take it! As you say, crazy cheap. If it wasn't for the red/failed charge errors, this would be perfect - but I'll live with them as long as I know OK!
