I'm off to Germany tomorrow and was wondering where else apart from Ionity I can use my Porsche Charge Card? I've plotted the Ionity ones but it would be good to get an idea of others that are of a similar cost etc and easy to use. Does anyone know if Stuttgart Airport has any too by any chance?

I have no idea about Stuttgart airport. But if you have the Porsche Charging card you have a great choice of networks to use. Fastned, Aral Pulse, EnBW, Allego, and many more. But they are more expensive tha the Ionity stations. Also look at suitable Tesla Superchargers, that can be cheaper than the other networks on the card.

COST below.

Don't know about Germany but I use the Porsche card by default everywhere when DC charging and so far from memory only ESB in Ireland and Gridserve in the UK have not worked with it. That's been across various sites in UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Holland and Belgium. Germany ought to be the best.

The Porsche app charger map and the PCM are superb for up to date charger information so best to check there IMO.

What route did you plan. I have quite some experience around sturtgart. Maybe I can recommend some chargers.

There is a quite big EnbW charge facility at their head quarter near stuttgart. I can also recommend Merklingen, more than 20 chargers + tesla.

the airport does have fast chargers but difficult to reach when not accessing the airport if I remember well.

other chargers in Germany : Shell recharge, EnwB, Fastned, and more.

I think with the new law most fast chargers should accept a credit card. But it will be more expensive

when not going for IONITY try to find a facility with at least 6 chargers and 300 kw. I once had a 2 charger EnbW with 150 kw. Started with 150 but while we were having lunch the second one was plugged in and it fell back to 75 kw.

and when lots of free chargers don’t use the second one if someone is plugged in but find two free ones.

innmy experience PCM is not very accurate in charging info. Takes 15 minutes to update. But if 6/6 chargers are free in pcm usually you can charge directly. 1/6 or 2/6 could be that you arrive with all chargers occupied. And sometimes it shows 0/6 but three cars just left and no problems. What I did at the end is always taking the exit and checking myself. When occupied and I see other EV hanging around I just go on the highway again and go to plan b or c charger.

Good to know. Thanks. I'm stopping at family just north of Frankfurt so will have a full charge from there and will go via Mannheim, the A81 and then the A8 to the airport. I know there's an Ionity one just after the airport on the A8 and I need to pick the wife up from the airport but in case I'm early it would be good to stop somewhere before to top up. From there it's down to Zugspitze area and again there's one by Dietsmannried

Germany has tons of networks with hefty 150-300kW chargers. Many use credit cards these days. But Ionity is the cheapest if you have the original Porsche card; Tesla is cheap ish if you have the 150kW/400V charging option in your car (if not, don’t use the Tesla chargers); FastNED is super reliable. EnBW is quite widespread too. Shell can be reliable but expensive (cheaper not to use the Porsche card). I use A Better Route Planner se tto prefer Ionity and it suggests good choices/timings most of the time.
