2021 Taycan 4S.
I set a location based profile with 9Pm-4PM, it does show HOME profile on the screen and keep charging between 4-9PM ?

Any suggestions? Timers don’t work either.

tl;dr: Location-based profiles that have a preferred charging time will charge to the minimum % given outside of the preferred charging time, and to 100% during the preferred charging time. What you probably want is a profile with a low % charge paired with a timer that's set to your actual desired charge at ~the time you plan to use the car each day.

https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-charging-quick-reference-profiles-and-timers.6799/ is a good thread on this topic.

Electric Sidecar tries to visualize your charging schedule so that you can understand the effects of different settings, here's the the one that's closest to yours:

Hmm, this all makes no sense.
so what’s the point of profiles if they don’t work as expected?

based on the link you provided my car supposed to charge only during preferred time I provided, same info is given in Porsche videos.

Here’s profile and timer which Taycan simply ignores.

Just erase the profile and keep the timer. It will be ready at 9 am and will only start to charge when needed. This should be fine with your interval unless your battery is really low and you have a really slow charger.

Is this a new problem on a car you had for two years ? Or a new car to you ?

If both timer and profile at not working but used to be fine it may also be the clock settings in the car after an update.

I just got a car.
The problem is that it will most likely ignore peak rates. I can cut that off on the charger though.
PS I don’t use Porsche charger.

If you cut off at the charger you will get an red error message in the car because it is plugged in but isn’t charging. That is not a problem it will solve once the charger is on again.

My low rates are from 9 pm to 6 am. I have only set a departure timer at 6 am and until now it has always started charging after 9 pm. It calculates when it has to start charging to be at 85% at departure time.

just set your timer at the end of your low rate and you should be fine. Unless the charger is too slow and it needs a longer time to charge than your interval.

This is by far the most discussed topic on the forum because the way these functions are designed and worded are confusing. My advice to you is to give us more info to what you are trying to accomplish so we can give you precisely the setup that you need starting with what brand charger and rate you have, with basic recommendation that it is always on with no schedules or cut offs in power so the car controls the charging. Then we get into reasons why you even need a Profile as others mentioned since it confuses the setup and only a layer on top of the Timer as the most basic charging control feature you should start with and then complicate from there. Therefore, what you shared so far, disable Profiles for now, keep one Timer that you have for every day for 9am and at 85%, plug in the night before, and report what you see the car is reporting in terms of colors on the charging button and app as you have to be sure the car is getting the power from the charger first as it should go Green (connection good) and then usually Blue (meaning on Hold) if there is more time that it needs to get you from the time you plugged in to 9am level defined in the Timer.

What does your screen say? Mine initially says it will follow the timer and the green bar becomes blue, but then after a while it becomes grey saying “initialising”

This OP prefers brief (1 - 2 sentence) problem descriptions with succeeding posts criticizing others' suggestions and the car.

It took me all of 2 or 3 posts to stop trying to help this lovely individual.
